Hi all
Just had IL2 FB for christmas and am just picking things up. I have a wingman extreme joystick which makes things a lot easier.
However, I find occassionally that the game seems to freeze whilem in flight for a second or 2 and becomes jerky.Is there a patch I might need bearing in mind I only bought the game December
THanks in advance

Welcome to the best WWII combat flight simulation / game on the market. Hope you enjoy! You need the 1.21 patch, located here (http://www.il2sturmovik.com/games_elts/fb_updates.php). Also, certain drivers for video cards have been known to cause problems. Catalyst 3.10, which I have, crashes my PC when running on perfect settings, so I use Excellent, instead. I beleive the Read Me in the patch has a list of recomended video drivers. The game patch most likely won't fix your lag, it's probably your settings and/or hardware. Without knowing your hardware and software, my help is limited. It's limited even with that info, but it gives us a better chance to help. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gifPlease see the tech forum for detailed help. Hope this helps, good luck and

Good hunting,

Meanwhile, in the 20th century:

BOOM! Yeah, Alright you primitive screwheads, listen up. See this? This is my T-Bolt!! It's has 8 .50cals and 2000lbs+ worth of bombs and rockets. Republic's top of the line. You can find this in the Kick A$$ department. That's right, this sweet baby was made in Farmingdale, Long Island and Evansville, Indiana. Retails for about $82,997.95. It's got a turbo-supercharger, all metal control surfaces with blunt nosed ailerons, and a hair trigger. That's right, shop smart, shop Republic. YOU GOT THAT!? Now I swear, the next one of you primates, E-ven TOUCHES me..... - Anonymous http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

The freezing of the game is quite common and it can be a result of your graphics settings and even your sound settings what GPU do you have what drivers do you use. For a more detailed explanation you should post your problem in the technical forum together with your dxdiag. To do that follow the path start-run than typ in dxdiag. Run all the tests and than save the results. Than you can copy-paste them into your post at the technical forum.

There is a patch and it will give you among other things more aircraft but its big.

It's Dec 03, 2003 116 MB add-on121_over10.exe - Retail v1.0 -> v1.21 patch you can get it here
http://www.3dgamers.com/games/il2sturmovik2/

but you may have a conflict or a set up problem as the game if a bit finicky in this department. You would be better posting in the technical frum as they will help you out better than people can in here. go to
http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums?a=frm&s=400102&f=49310655 or click on the link aat the top and post your question again there.

Oh welcome to the best game out there, by the way,you can download many free paintschemes for your aircraft at www.il2skins.com (http://www.il2skins.com)

Welcome aboard... I still get a little stutter as I merge with the bandits on the first pass... I just ignore it. If it is more than tat it could be your video card.
