First I am newish to this forum and am never sure quite where I am supposed to send my posts - I hope I am in the right place!

Now for my points:

Landing - I have and am still playing Ill-2 the original and none of the tutorials work since the CD I have is version 1.03a. It seems that these scripts only work if you have the boxed original versions - so I am never gonna learn to land.

Campaign Communications - When I am playing the campaign I get instructions from my leader to tell me I am flying the wrong course and he barks the correct heading to me. When I watch the direction he is flying in and then compare it to the course he is telling me this would point me on a course that is 45 degrees in the wrong direction. Is this cos I don't have the boxed original version 1.0 of Ill-2?

Have all of these issues been fixed in FB?

Any help on this issues would be greatly appreciated as I don't want to keep employing the Autopilot to avoid crashing on landing and following the leaders course.

Lastly, I cannot seem to get my avatar to upload. It asks for a URL and I have put me avatar on a webpage and specified the url for it but it don't work. Other boards allow you to specify the file on your hard disk and it uploads it for you - any ideas?

Just answering your last part about the avatar:

You entered "http://www.gazzamataz.com/ga_ill_avatar.htm/amavatar.jpg"

enter this instead:
"http://www.gazzamataz.com/amavatar.jpg" and it should work fine now..

Hi,

Have you checked some of the links in "Sturmovik Essentials", one of the sticky threads?:

I'm absolutely sure you'll be able to find a good landing guide in there somewhere. It's not that hard anyway. Try with a long approach, point your nose at the beginning of the runway and throttle down so you go around 140-180 kmph with gears down and full landing flaps. Now just gliiiiiide down. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

You have IL2 version 1.03? Shouldnt you be patched to ay least 1.2? That could e part of your problem. I would just get the AEP and really enjoy myself if I were you.

Bearcat, I am all patched up to 1.2 and I do have FB but haven't started it yet still finishing the original. Is AEP really that good? If so looks like its gonna be a birthday pressie!
