..add dismembered body parts and blood? You know, for real immersion.

Also in your cockpit maybe add fire and smoke when you're all shot up.

Occasionally when you blow up/collide, I've noticed the pilots lifeless and 'chuteless body plummet earthward!

Perhaps (if we feel extra nasty) if we decide to fly into a person in a parachute we could get a splatter of blood on our windshield and we could hear a mincing sound with bits getting stuck on the wings and aircraft. (Reminds me of one of the Indiana Jones films.)

Fire in the cockpit would be cool.
I dont think Oleg will model bloody stumps.

I've had enough of blood and guts as an Army medic as well as a civilian paramedic. One of the stated goals of the creators of this game was to honor the blood spilled on the eastern front, not provide it for your entertainment. But then again, this sort of post should not surprise me when my friends at CNN report that people call up and complain that the "special effects" were no good when the enemy broadcasts video of fallen men and women in all the senseless conflicts around the world. These accounts may not be WWII, but trust me when I say, for those involved, it was plenty war enough.

Try to think of the mothers who scream when they learn their baby is dead. In war, war at all levels, it is the same. It was the same for my mother when the Army Captain walked up the steps. It was the same for the woman in Chad who was told by me that we could not save her son.

I was going to ask you to think about what you are saying and understand. But I guess, until you've lived the horror, you will never understand. In a strange way, I rejoice in the news that you will never understand.

Enjoy the game and honor the memory,

I was only joking. Some games glorify this sort of violence. I STRONGLY believe that IL2FB should remain clean and to honour the memory of those who died in a format that we can all enjoy and understand. Think of my post as a satirisation of the belief of CNN and the media at large that the games industry is full of people who are obsessed with blood and violence.

Flames and smoke in the cockpit would be nice. Wouldn't want to offend anyone here with the reality of body parts flying around in a Sim. Its just when you see so much in a detailed explosion, wheels, tires, props, I almost expect to see "something" human.

The body would be burned so much you wouldn't be able to tell it apart from a machine until the arm landed in your lap. (If you were stupid enough to fly in combat with an open canopy)

If oleg did add some extra effects, then it would slow are sytems down even more.

Like for example, the dirt that gets blown all over the place when you first start your engine.Any one enable there fps and notice how much the it drops?

...And since we're already scouting into FPS-territory with this "blood 'n guts" thing, why not an imposing voice booming "Multi-kill, Ultra-Kill, and M-m-m-m-MOOOOONSTER-KILL-Kill-kill" if you manage to take down three, four, or five hostiles in as many seconds?

Imagine zooming down on a hapless Yak and blowing him away, then being labelled "GODLIKE" as you go back up... /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I have an idea:

When enemy shoots thru your windshield and the pilot gets wounded, blood should spray all arund your cockpit making your visibility distance zero.

Come on, is this a sim or a splatter game? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
