FW190D9 (44' Erhohte Notleistung) 3400 RPM
90-100% manual prop pitch.
At 280kph climbs like a scalded a$$ monkey.

A few questions.

How do you get a 190 Dora to 3400 RPM and how do you keep it there if you are flying 280 km/h?

1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye
shall be judged: and with what
measure ye mete, it shall be
measured to you again.

105 or 110% power, 95 or 100% prop pitch. RPM is based on throttle and pitch settings, not indicated airspeed directly. It depends partly on other factors, for example a steep dive increases the RPM because of the load on the propellor, typically you have to either switch back to auto pitch or manually crank it down to 80% or less to avoid overspeeding the engine. A climb reduces the load on the prop so you actually would prefer to have more than 100% pitch (if it were possible) for climbing. Since you can't have more than 100%, 100% will have to do.

Rule of thumb:
100% pitch for hard climbs, less than 80% for steep dives.

The D9 overspeeds at 3500 RPM+ and you will quickly burn out your engine, so care must be taken to keep one eye on the RPM gauge. At less than 3400 RPM you are not getting the full potential out of the engine. Auto pitch keeps you typically less than 3000 RPM which is why even though it does all the work for you, it's better to be hands on and do it yourself. You get more out of it.

Auto pitch is a handicap for the FW, not a bonus imho. Take the time to experiment and master manual prop pitch. It will give you an advantage in the E fight.

If you are a stallfighter, probably simpler to leave it on auto pitch and continue trying to pull your wings off in hard turns.

you need a stealth pplane if you were going to deliver her to the enemy.
