Ok so i have gone as far as completing sequence seven, and i am now dropping the main story until i have fully upgraded the Jackdaw. This will obviously require many hours of wreck diving, body searching and treasure hunting for plans et.c, and of course plundering for materials. Since i use the companion app, i am making plenty of cash (waaaay faster than required materials) so at the end of any game play session, before i go to bed, i always have a surplus of reales to spend. I cant be bothered to hunt so i just buy all the bits and pieces for Ed's upgrades.....

Basically this means i am now going to become Mr kenways pesonal fashion consultant. I have him in the black privateers outfit. Just wondering what other people think looks best on him?? I tried ezios outfit, and as much as it is my favorite from all other games, it just looks out of place in this one.

For me, the best outfits are:

1. The Brown Cloak outfit

2. The original outfit after every upgrade has been unlocked

3. The black privateer outfit

4. Haytham Kenway's Overcoat outfit (exclusive for the owners of the Edward Kenway statue ==> http://shop.ubi.com/store/ubiemea/en_IE/pd/ThemeID.8605700/productID.277679500/Assassins_Creed%C2%AE_IV_Black_Flag%E2%84%A2_-_Figurine.html)

The Stealth outfit and the Templar Armor are really good as designs, but the second one feels a bit out of place, while the first one's impact is greatly reduced by all the metal equipment Edward carries around.

I think i might have to get that statue, haytham outfit looks decent!
Not too keen on the stealth costume for some reason.
Templar outfit looks better when its on display rather than being worn imo :D

The Code only works on last gen consoles! Be warned! I bought four of the figures, but I can't get the content because I'm playing on Xbox One. So if you are on Xbox One or PS4, don't buy the figures, unless you really want them, because the ulc won't work.

Luckily i have not upgraded to next gen yet. ( According to my good lady, kids apparently come first, and i am told they need shoes and food et.c. Bloody liberties i say! :D ). But thanks for the heads up, i am aiming for a ps4 later this year and it's good to know about these things. I suppose there was always going to be some problems when they crossed over.

It depends, if I feel like playing as an Assassin I'll go with the explorer outfit, but if I feel like playing as a pirate I'll go with either the crimson cloak or Captain Morgan redingote.

My favorites are the Brown Cloak, Shark Hunter outfit and Governor's outfit (at least until you get the blowpipe).
I never liked black outfits for assassins; I don't really get the appeal of it.

I liked black as soon as i unlocked altair's armour in AC2, for some reason (to me) it looks good on an assassin. I suppose many of us think it looks "badder" and therefore gives the character wearing it dark side. I know of many like yourself, on the other hand, who prefer the colourful or white ones better.

I used to dress my assassins in colourful robes in acb and acr, while i felt black was a better colour for the leader (me) :D

Is the capt morgan one available on single player too, or just multiplayer? (never played multiplayer on any AC title, for some reason i just dont like the idea)

I did the same thing ;) I invented a whole rank system, actually; the nooby ones got wine-colored robes, the masters got white robes, and Ezio got the one and only black robe.

Yeah, it's part of the Illustrious Pirates pack.

Excellent. Since Capt. Morgan is also my favorite spirit based drink, i feel it is now essential that i own this outfit... it's a pity there is no automatic change option for Eddy to change clothes between on and off ship, instead of going to the cabin and doing it manually. Capt. Morgan on board, whatever preferred assassin outfit on land.

The default robe is my preferred choice. I like the Duncan robe too but the only ones that resemble it are the politician/governor's outfits (and maybe a third one) but the colours are a bit funny. I agree that the blowpipe is probably why I also avoid them.

It's just such a shame that the pistols and blowpipe look so silly with that outfit. I really hope we'll get a customizable weapon inventory in future AC games.

Edit: D*mn it, for some reason I always get Duncan's and Stede Bonnet's names confused. Why the hell is that!??

I love them. Pirate Captain is my favorite. And Governors. And the default one. I actually think it's the best selection since AC2. Ubi did a great job IMO of having a nice variety.

My favourite outfit is Duncan Walpole's original robes Eddie steals in Cape Bonavista and wears in Havana - and then never uses again :( ...

Isn't that the set he wears the whole time?

Yes but I think he personalized the robes (he's a decent tailor apparently) - they aren't that lovely blue colour all over.

I think he just removed some parts to make place for the leather armor.

In any case, the original version is my favourite outfit and I would have loved it if it were available after they are removed in-game. Apart from that, the ones I love which you have the option to put on are the Govenor's outfit and the Explorer outfit.

Is the Governor's outfit the one with the red coat/white belts? If so, I like that one a lot. Stede Bonnet's outfit is great too, makes Edward blend in perfectly while not being too flashy.

That's the one yep, reminds me a little of Altair's armor with a Caribbean feel to them and the white hood/black robe combination is awesome.

I've always been of the mindset that (in most games, even) the original/fully upgraded outfit is always the best.

I dunno... maybe it's because you spend most of the game with it. But I swear it seems like it's always of a better quality. It's like the animators/texturists/etc/etc spend a lot more time with the primary outfit knowing that it's the bread and butter of the game that you'll see most of all. Bonus outfits always seem like an after thought to me, that never quite like as realistic or well done in some way.

Otherwise, subtlety is best. Eg the brown cloak: Basically the standard outfit with a small addition.

i agree with this. The only bonus outfit i really liked was ac2 altair armour. I do find that in all the ac games, the standard outfits you buy at the stores are the same animations but different dyes. Eg in ac4, the privateer outfit is exactly the same as his default outfit but everything is dyed black, including his leather armour.

I dig Edward with the red cloak, there's something vaguely east Asian about its detailing, though that may be my obsession with dragons. I wish we could dye it though since it's a bit jarring considering how ordinary it makes the rest of his outfit look.
