They're pretty easy to miss since there's no gameplay mechanic built around them like the shanties, but they're still pretty cool. Naturally, since they're played on land instead of on the high seas, they have the luxury of instrumental accompaniment, so they give off a totally different vibe. Here's some of my favorites.

I did, they were better than the shanties, I would put the charge on my controller and go use my computer while Edward idling there listening to them.
No.1: Here's a health for the company is my favorite.

I got so sick of "Trooper and the Maid" after hearing it so many times while playing board games. :p It's the most repetitive of all the songs. I do like "Here's a Health to the Company" and "Star of the County Down".

I also like "Here's a Health to the Company". My other favourite one is "Over the Hills and Far Away".

Y atravesando los Montes salí de Málaga un día.
Y atravesando los montes escuché una voz que decía
"Chiquillo no me conoces tanto como me querías"

The one that I can't get out of my head is "Down Among the Dead Men".

Down down down down DOOOOWwwwnwnwn! And then the singer will hop a bit and thrown down their fist.

Was pretty funny when you hear a certain pirate singing it. You're like.... OOOOHhhh, I know who that is. hehe

It would be nice if they ever sung anything different from Trooper ant the Maid. Honestly, I don't recall these taverns ever playing anything else in my playthroughs.

I honestly really enjoyed the music from AC4 it was refreshing from the rest of the series, and diverse! :D Granted I like trooper and the maid but it did get a tad bit over played! I also really like here's to health!

I was disappointed that "over the hills and far away" wasn’t the Led Zeppelin song j/k

But yeah the tavern songs are great as are the shanties and "a parting glass" brought a tear to my eye.

I hope Ubi keeps adding period music to future titles it does a lot for the atmosphere imho.
I’m sure there were some nice revolutionary songs during the French Revolution.

Oh great, the spambots have started posting in existing threads now...

OT however, yes I LOVE the tavern songs, although Blow the Candle Out gets somewhat annoying when you loose at Nine Men's Morris for the fourth time in a row...

I know exactly what you mean :D. I think it's fanorona in Kingston (and I suppose a couple of other places as well).

haha I would stand in the taverns for ages to hear out the songs (while also getting Edward drunk) until the singers part.

Me too, even though I have absolutely no idea what they were saying.
