Hey all.

I am a concept artist in the game industry and attended E3 in LA last week.

The game I am associated with was being shown at the Nvidia booth and so was Pacific Fighters.......at least for a little bit.

Of course I am an IL2 addict so when I saw the the little sign over the one computer showing Pacific Fighters I set up shop and planned to hog it all day.

No one was there to help me so I flew a Hurricane around a wooded map for awhile. It looked great but I really wanted to get to the Navy fighters.

I quit out of that game and went into the menus and searched for anything relating to Navy planes.

After some looking I fired up a mission and there I was flying a Corsair over a Carrier surrounded by water. It looked awesome! I was totally excited when I saw the KI's approaching. As I started to gain altitude for my attack the machine froze HARD!

I screamed! Panicking I looked around for help. UNLOCK THIS MACHINE! MUST DOGFIGHT IN CORSAIR! No one around to help. I skulked off to return later and see if they would fix the machine.

To my suprise when I returned 30 minutes later the machine was shut off and the Pacific Fighters sign had been taken down. Never to be seen for the rest of the show.

I apologize to the IL2 team for crashing your game in the first 2 hours of the show. Trust me fellas what I did see looks like something all IL2 fans will have to own. Cant wait to pick my dogfight when the full version comes out.

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

hawkprey, by any chance, are you allowed to tell us which game you were associated with at E3 ?

Your story might support Luthier's story in his E3 thread, that a lot of industry people he met are "secret flight simmers" and many wished they were developing or working on flight sims themselves. To quote him :

" Another great thing was to meet many developers of many smaller and some of the major titles, who are all apparently huge flight sim fans who expressed a bit of envy at not being able to do something in the genre for themselves. "

I am actually the character concept artist for Epics next generation of products. If you have ever played Unreal Tournament then you have a good idea of the stuff I work on.

I LOVE IL2. All the guys here are totally confused why I play IL2 and not Unreal Tournament all the time. ahahhahaa.

Here is some of my older stuff if you want a look see. www.hawkprey.com (http://www.hawkprey.com)
