I've been flying the Me-262 almost exclusively recently in online games, and it has got to be easily the best plane in the game. Especially with the changes made in 1.11. It's fast as a thief, quite maneuverable for a two-engine plane, and hits super hard. The only weak point is the acceleration, but if you keep your speed over about 500 kph or have room to dive, nothing can catch you.

I've gotten into several jet vs. jet dogfights, and with judicious use of combat flaps, you can handily out-scissors another 262 if you can't win the vertical fight. This has to be the ultimate BnZ fighter; it allows you to pick your fights and engage and disengage at will, and all you need is for the enemy to be in your gunsight for a fraction of a second... The four 30mms chew up anything in only one or two hits.

Is it just me, or is there a need for some jets-only servers? (Maybe including late-war prop planes as well, for the masochists among us. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif ) The Me-262, properly flown, is pretty much unbeatable by regular prop planes, except during its well-known vulnerable takeoffs and landings, and some jets-only combat will be good practice for the add-ons. I'll be really excited to see the P-80, He-162, and Me-262 going at it when the add-ons are released.

Wait until the Go-229 and P-80 comes out. Then you might see some of these jet-only servers..../i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

It is a blast. I'm kind of glad its not in any of the campaigns, at least that I know of - its not fair. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I also enjoy flying it in QC against other ME262s. Its so much fun...

The Me262 is availiable as on option at the last year of the German fighter campaigns, IIRC. I had one going, but haven't been able to play it much.

I shoot down a few 262's in some of the missions in the Berlin 1945 campaign as a russian fighter pilot. They are not that hard to bring down... it seems that the AI pilots can't take advantage of the speed of this plane.

Yeah I started that campaign yesterday, but have only flown one mission so far. The AI pilots have no idea how to use the 262, and get slaughtered... Hopefully that'll improve with the addons.
