Just wondering if in the Next Sim, we can still use our MiGs and stuff. I *heard* (/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif ) Oleg wants to do the Billion Polygon plane thing or something, but will the current FB planes and cockpits be okay to render too in the Next Sim? If not at first, but then eventually? I also wonder because there is so much 3rd Party plane development going on so they can be part of the future too. Gib, wozop? I'd love to use P~80 in the Pacific too.

I don't wanna lose my MiG~3, because if Oleg doesn't include it in a future flight sim, nobody else will. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

Personally i like the concept of moving planes from one sim to another with whatever changes that required. Hopefully next sim from Maddox will drag over current plane setup.

If next sim is Med\BoB\Pacific, most of the Russian planes will be unneccesary. I cant see carry-over being a feature, IMHO.

There is no need to include Eastern front planes in historicaly accurate scenario...but just to have them included...why not? Don`t you wanna land 262 on the carrier /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I hope not. The standards of a new sim developed 1-2 years from now should greatly exceed the quality of anything that is in FB currently. To the point that they would look very much out of place, and would require a lot of work to update.

Think ahead to 2005. We (the lucky ones of us) will be running 5 ghz machines with 4 gigs of RAM and the latest and greatest video cards. The buzzwords of flight sim technology will be bump mapping, self shadowing, subdivision surfaces and pixel shading. The models will be detailed and smooth to the point where you cannot see where one polygon ends and the next begins, and you will never see any edge flicker. The terrain will look like terrain, the grass will sway int he wind, and the water will reflect your face when you fly upside down and look at it...

Ok, maybe not, but I sure as heck don't want to see the R-10 or MC-202 flying around in it /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif It would be like putting Falcon 4 planes into LOMAC.
