At the moment I have 384MB of PC133. I have 2 options currently open to me:
1) Buy another 256MB of PC133 to replace my 128MB board and bring my system up to 512MB(I only have 2 SDram slots)

2)Buy 256MB of PC2100 and get more when finances allow(Yes my MOBO can take both types of RAM).

I'm planning on upgrading to an XP2000 early next year(my current CPU is a Duron 1200) and I've been advised it will run far better with DDR memory.
The point is; will the drop to 256MB DDR affect performance in any way,or will the fact that it's DDR make up for the loss of MB's.

512MB pc2100 DDR and 256MB PC2100 DDR have very slight difference in price...can you manage 512 of PC2100? If you planning to upgrade to XP2100 that would be a better move.

In the longer run (if you decide to get another 256MB) DDR is a way better choice to SDRAM.
