You get into this beta, when you preorder the game. And it should appear in about an hour.

Otherwise we'll only be able to give away empty Diet Coke bottles for any future contests. http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/images/smilies/icon/sad.gif

Who chooses the winners and how will they be chosen?

rlmergeuser
03-08-2013, 10:38 PM
I believe it is chosen by people at redlynx.

Apart from playability, general quality and care taken in creating the track, I'd hazard a guess to say general appeal to players will come into play. They're running this competition to get as many tracks in the exchange as possible, and Ninja difficulty tracks are alienating to all but a few players.

And yeah, I'll be gutted if a ninja takes the top prize, unless it has some spectacular well produced theme or some mechanics that have never been seen! No offence cristan http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/images/smilies/icon/smile.gif

trust me, a ninja will not be chosen. Redlynx wouldn't pick a ninja because the track needs to be possible for people with average to above average skill. No ninja was ever picked for redlynx picks on 360 and there was a bunch of really good ninjas.

Check out, ride and rate my Beta Build Off track "Multiple Choice Exam". A medium difficulty, multiple routes speed run track.

I have spent some time with this 1 really tweaking the driving line, so hopefully there are some great runs to be seen. It is also decorated so theres stuff to look at too.

This track will be my Beta Build Off entry so a video and screens will follow soon. (Someone recommend me a way to capture my video?)

Feedback always appreciated http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/images/smilies/icon/smile.gif

Enjoy, Tee

I played your level last night, TeeHill, it's really good. I think you have a good chance of getting in the top three.

Only feedback I can give is the gold medal time is surprisingly strict for a gold (compared to the base game's official tracks) . I got second on your leaderboard, beat 3rd by 6 seconds, and still missed the gold. I didn't have any major mistakes, and I took the upper path for about half of what's available, but it wasn't enough. But I'm not amazing at the game either. I really didn't have a game plan for the later half of the track either, just winged that.

The driving line did feel nice though. Good work. I would agree with what was said in your track's thread that the difficulty is a bit inconsistent. There are spikes of a hard track in there, imo. That's not a big deal though, fun track.

Cheers for the feedback fuzzy, yeah I agree the gold and silver are a little off, hopefully if it wins anything the guys, RL, will be able to alter those details. I think the platinum time is spot on as I just put in a stinker and was still nearly a second off, I did miss 1 shortcut though. I have run sub 38 in tests, so it is doable.

My entry for those who have not played it.

I'd greatly appreciate help from redlynx staff on this, but didn't want to clutter the submission email with this.

Is it possible to submit a revised version of my track. It's just a few modifications (mostly making medal times achievable), and it's mostly my fault for being impatient, but I've released a fixed version of the track I've submitted, and would like it to be considered instead of the one I previously emailed in. Can I send the new track in without being given the competition banhammer? http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/images/smilies/icon/smile.gif

Exactly like mine, medal time a bit heavy for the influx of new users. I'm sure if your track is a winner then they will allow it, they may even do it themselves to ensure you don't fiddle http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/images/smilies/icon/razz.gif But I'm not particularly worried about that, as long as they are obtainable they are acceptable... Don't want to be a killjoy but I feel it should be based on your first entry

Track is uploaded and playable on track central. Final Impact by fuzzylogick. It's a techincal, hard-difficulty track. Theme is: You have survived the first meteorite strike. Can you make it to your bunker before final impact?

I think I did pretty well for my first ever track. Spent a lot of hours on it. Was really fun learning how to make my track ending sequence happen.

Ah god, seeing all these awesome tracks, I've got a feeling I won't be winning this competition, but I went ahead and submitted a track anyway.
This is literally my first track, but I still think it turned out alright. I could have lengthened it a bit, but I was quickly running out of ideas and the will to continue trying to manage a glue group of that size.

Nannerdw, Murdoc, and LostTechnique will all place, couldn't tell you the order as they are all good tracks.

edit: I just realized the difficulties of these tracks are extreme, upper level extreme, and hard. I assume Redlynx will want some diversity in difficulties so players new to the game can have a chance at completing them. I am sure at least one the tracks I mentioned will get picked.

I think the Mario track will make it in. I know it's been done before on 360, and the driving line isn't very good, but n00bs will still love it. I think Redlynx will want something to put up on Pure Fun when the game launches, just for a bit of variety.

Edit: Maybe not, though, because "Super Mario World" is a registered trademark. hmm...
