What kind of specs are required to play a game like this?
My Laptop was like 300 bucks a year ago, what are the chances of it even being able to run a game like this?

Questions like this are why I prefer consoles, its much more black and white.
The thought of taking my laptop anywhere with trials on it is too inticing to ignore though!

I know its a duel core pentium t4500 @2.3 GHz, whatever that means. It has 3 gigs ram. I dont know what kind of graphics card it has.
I havnt installed and played a PC game since the days of Doom 2 and Hexen...

If you're using Windows, go to "Run" and type in devmgmt.msc, or just open "Device Manager" from the control panel.
What does it say under "Display adapters"?

I definitely wouldn't count on it, sorry.
It might be time for an upgrade next year. http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Same here pal, consoles are easier. Think my laptop is way way off the mark if yours is gonna struggle! A Vita version, now that would be nice. There was a game coming out called Urban Trials for Vita but I havent heard anything more about it, looked decent enough.

If Trials SE is any indicator (quite hungry for what it offers visually speaking), running the gold edition of Trials Evolution will require a pretty good computer.

While I am a console gamer at heart, and have two xbox's and ps3's, consider this:
I can play Skyrim with a hi res texture pack at 60fps no problem, it looks great and plays greater. I don't like to mod much, being a console gamer, but there are a great many options for those who do, and if you play exclusively on consoles you will never get those mods.
I can play any xbox or ps3 game that is on computer, and it runs WAY better than the respective console. So, while I still love consoles, they are more limited in the way of improvement, so as time goes by PC's have an advantage. Sure, you have to do research and spend a bit to get outrageously overpowered graphics, but its worth it.

Me too http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif , and hopefully never change

The thing is with consoles is they are much cheaper, simple yet "enough" of a gaming experience for many gamers.

There are tonnes of console gamers on Call of Duty alone so cheap simple and somewhat something is quite a few prefer but that goes without saying there are still lots of PC gamers out and im NOT one of 'em. http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif

You're gonna really struggle to run anything on those specs.

I'm able to run Battlefield 3 in 'High' (30 FPS) and Portal 2 (50 FPS) in 'MAX' settings. =]

Some games are weird though and lag a lot for me.

With the Radeon HD 6520G? That GPU doesn't benchmark even remotely close to being able to play Battlefield 3 on high. I dunno, must be a miracle http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/images/smilies/icon/razz.gif

Must be, it was only a $350 laptop. http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/images/smilies/icon/biggrin.gif

Still, hopefully this game has adjustable graphics settings because any type of lag in a game like Trials Evolution would be unacceptable.

Mac version. would be sweet, Id buy it in addition to the PC version if it came out. at least these days you can have a windows partition on Mac if need be. Not ideal for everyone, but a solution at least.

Well if you can run bf3 on high graphics at 30 fps you can probably run trials evolution 10 times without laggs.. after all, the xbox can handle it too

Yeah.. Prices are nothing. Microsoft will jack them up because youre buying it new. Some games require a certain graphics card and some dont work well in certain computers. Ive always been at a loss trying to be a pc gamer.. Could only get a few high detailed games to run. I imagine theres setups that play a majority of games but I have not gone looking personally.

console gaming is cheaper if you dont buy games.

But about specs, Just think about a 7 year old top notch computer.

Just type "dxdiag" in run and get to know your computer specifications under windows environment. It will help you better to get in details.

Why laptop? I got a desktop pc with a quad core AMD 955 processor and gtx 560 for 350. It seems like some are spending the same amount of money to get a thinner, but worse computer.

It's Apple's fault for fooling millions with shiny computers that get thinner and less capable each year.

I just upgraded my graphics card. Most actual hardware work I've done in a while. It had a 450 Watt requirement and my wimpy 300 W power supply wouldn't cut it.

I ordered the card and PS from new egg, and when they showed up, the power supply wouldn't fit right in the case. I had to metal snip the case a little to help it fit.

So now I have a wonderful graphics card, nVidia GT 630. For once in my life, I can set the graphics in most my games to HIGH 1920 x 1080. Looking beautiful.

The moral of this story is, my graphics card isn't the newest. It's about 6 generations older than the newest, and still pretty slick.

On board or integrated chip sets just won't cut it, go for the upgrade. Do whatever it takes.

Now Portal 2 on my PC looks amazing. I'm sure Trials Gold Edition will too.

So I can't believe I didn't notice this before, but it looks like Vista or above is a requirement. Luckily I work for a major university and can upgrade to 7. I'm not happy about it, but my PC can run it easily, and I should probably catch up with the rest of the world, especially if I want to actually play the beta (which I can't, currently).

If you can upgrade, do it, cause Win7 turned out to be a great OS. A lot more stable than XP and everything just runs faster/better. You won't regret it.
