*edit*
i thought using the slider had worked, but sadly it hasnt - after about 100m into the level the car veers off line again.
i've tried more sliders, along with a rather large number of dummies on the front of the car, but none of it is working.

anyone got any other bright ideas, becaue i'm completely stumped

Or just lock to driving line.

Or just lock to driving line.
you cant lock the car to the driving line for some reason
(i think its because its really 10 objects glued together)

slider would be good option.

Also try just centering a small plank and lock that to drive line?

tried a plank and a concrete tile. both didnt work. thats why i put this thread up.

when i next open the level up, i'll try the slider. my only worry is that it wont work if it gets stretched too far

Dummy (physics off) - slider - dummy (physics on) - car

- = glue

center all of those to the driving line and it should work http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I always forget about dummy's. They are REALLY useful!

the slider is working wonderfully, although i'm needing one about every 6 or 7 wall blocks for my car chase level to work.

thanks for the advice guys

Can't you just glue a dummy to the front AND back of the car and lock those to diving line? This should keep both ends in check.

I have an idea.....what if high above the track you put long metal rods, and have a tire on it.....make that go along the track and glue the car to it?

i thought about that, but wouldnt the car just move sideways and lean slightly with that.

*edit*
but one above and another below might work...

Have you tried adding a slider to the other end of the track also? You could also try those angular dampers http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
