OK number 7 is up and ready for DL. Hope you guys enjoy it.

1st Trak - removed due to it being crap.

2nd Trak - Fast track designed for flow and speed. (people have said it's similar to 'where's the ground')

3rd Trak - More physics use, a bit more challenging but still some speed elements.

4th Trak - Like I said above, fire and craziness all over the place.

5th Trak - Sorry there are no pics for this one yet, but it's a looker I can tell you that much. This is my first try at an extreme track, and it was a fun one to make. I put alot of time into tweaking each set of obstacles, so they may be hard at first but once mastered have nice reply value. Please give some feedback on this one as it's my first go at an extreme.

6th Trak - never made it to shared stage. Some great physics stuff, but the flow just wasn't there and I couldn't bring myself to finish it.

7th Trak - Built for the guys into flow and path choice. Only a medium, but to platinum it will take some skill for sure. Object count maxed out and the track can be completed in a very short time, so it's a bit of a looker, but luckily it has some substance to it as well. Enjoy.

Nice track you got there, man. I really dig the flow of the track. It's obvious you spent time making it flow at such good speed - if played faultlessly.

I went from bronze right to platinum though, so I didn't see what your platinum requirement was, but my time was 00:50.389

Thanks for playing Lighter! I think the platinum was set at about 51 seconds.... Actually you know what, who ever manages the best time I will change it to 1/100th of a second slower than the time they do it in.
You are the leader so far for sure, so in a few days after a few others have done their times I will change the platinum score.

Thanks again Lighter. It's time for me to really get stuck into some of the user tracks you guys have created. I don't think I have golded half of the tracks I have DLed yet!

No problem Lexicos. I have just accepted your friend request.

Lighter, I managed to get a 50.296 on the track last night, but it took me a lot of runs - not sure if I can get lower than that.

Hey guys,

Got another new track up, and rather than create a new thread I thought I would just edit this one instead.

The '3rd Trak' maxed out the objects (wish there was some kind of gauge for this), has much more physics than anything else I have done, and is a bit harder in parts than '2nd Trak'.

Like the '2nd Trak' let me know of your best times either here or on Live and I will adjust the platinum score to match.

Enjoy.

Hi Hollowcell,

Just got round to trying your latest creation "3rd trak". Really good course, fast moving, some tricky obstacles, especially at speed, and some very good use pf physics. Overall, really like it, well done!

Only had 2 goes but you asked for times so I can tell you my 2nd go was 8 faults and 01:42.478. Probably not the best but I need to give it more goes and 0 fault it yet ... will let you know!

Look forward to your next one!

Ok track but try not to make some of the tricks so exacting, by this I mean if there is only one way to do something and it must be done exactly right to advance, I beat it but my bet is most people won't get past the fence at the begining, unless they are really good, hell it took me a while to figure it out and I beast most of the original tracks(all but 5 platinums 2 extreme 3 hard)Personaly I think they should be hard but the ablity to beat a previous score after playing a couple times. There is no REAL incentive to play until I get a Platinum because the track times and replays are not for public viewing, so there for the pleasure in making a track is for people to be able to see all of it to be able to injoy your craftsmanship. Anywho this is not a flame thread and I did enjoy it, but food for thought. I only say this because I liked it. keep it up.

This map, Or shall i say, Expierience, will force the weak to become stronger, And challenge even the best riders each time played. My favorite new map. F#%kING DISGUSTING!!!!! 5 stars. o SKUMBAG o

Hence the reason this track was called an extreme track (if there was a level over extreme I would have used it). After playing QC's and Skumbag's creations, I knew that I wanted to make a hard one for the top players.

Trak number 5 isn't for everyone guys, but just keep in mind that if you like a challenge (and if you have the skills) you'll fly through it.

hollowcell 5 was so hard, passed 74 faults for 1st time, the moving box part got me most of the faults, and the start was really hard, almost more luck based http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif great layout and ideas though loved it

I played about half of it, and I love the obstacles and the challenge (makes me feel a bit better about putting up something like Fun with Jumps), but I kinda got annoyed with it. I really dislike the way you have messed with the camera angles. I feel like it detracts from the track instead of adding exitement. Your design is strong enough that I don't think you need to screw with the perspectives to make it exciting. I'd love it if you would put up a version that just uses the default camera for the whole thing.

Also the first checkpoint requires a rollback that is a little obnoxious. I think it's better if checkpoints start you from the right position to make the next section.

Basically a really cool track though and I love the challenge, but I think trying to get too fancy kinda hurts the experience.

@ 420: 74 faults is amazing for a first run!! Specially as many of the techniques needed are a bit different to the norm (lot's of front wheel balancing/bouncing). Those Physics boxes were pretty tough, but once you realize you have to backwheel bounce them it's easier. Once getting the techniques down then the whole track gets easier.

A common technique in this track is balancing on the front wheel, then hopping and letting the back wheel land exactly where the front wheel was - this is the way to get past not only the first fence easily (got this down nine out of ten times now), but also the part before the big triple platforms leap.

Thanks heaps for being one of the few to make it through!

@ Merry: Sorry you got annoyed with it Merry. It's not a track for everyone, and it's so violently different to my other more fun-based tracks. Can you be more specific in terms of camera placement? A few of the cameras had to be placed, as the default wasn't letting the rider see where he should had to land. I will put up a default camera version for you for sure though.

In regards to the first checkpoint, I decided to make that a slight roll back as it was easy to crash over that fence and then get to that checkpoint without actually making it. This track was meant to be one step over extreme, and I couldn't have any free checkpoints given.

Thanks to all that have given it a go so far, and just to let you know my lowest amount of faults is now 18 (in testing) which shows that the techniques can be learned.... I doubt very much that my skill level on this game will master them though.

*EDIT: Since I hadn't played Trak 5 after I uploading the final version, I just gave it a quick run through to mark a score on the finished track (rather than just have my testing times) and I got 24 fault with in just over 6 minutes.

rlmergeuser
10-03-2009, 08:04 AM
The part I got frustrated by the camera was when you had those 3 concrete pipes with curve sections at the top. It was a weird angle and I just had a hard time orientating to it....I know it's probably a personal quirk, but i was bummed cause I was really diggin the track. I totally get the no free checkpoints thing, you can kinda flop over the fence. It would be nice not to have to roll back, but I get your justification for that.

Gotta say I really do like the track a lot, there are some really cool obstacles in there!

@ Merry: OK let me see what i can do there; that was another section which had some trouble with the default cam, but let me see if I can refine it a little bit.

@robiin777: No problems at all - just accepted your request. Please let me know what you think by giving some feedback on the thread here. http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Just remember, if you try 'Trak 5' first, it's tougher than average. The other tracks I have up there are far more accessible, and are built for replay value/better times - Trak 5 is built for the truly TrialsHD obsessed and is based on sheer technique and the lowest fault score - I haven't even thought about getting low times on it yet.

Have fun!

@ Robiin777: Glad you got through it! And glad you liked it. http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

@Gamescrub: I'll give ya a tip, a key technique to beating this track is: get your front wheel onto the high object, hold the brakes and balance over, then once at the tipping point you have to bounce and let your back wheel come down where your front wheel was and accelerate to level out the bike. This will help you get through a few tough parts in the track.

It is a tough one for sure though.... Some of the tricks in it are difficult to figure out, but once figured out you'll make most of them about 70-80% of the time. Much like Skumbag's latest - although I reckon his might even be tougher than this!

@Rotten: Thanks man, appreciate the kind words!

All of the tracks are really cool. I enjoyed track 2 because you can haul some serious *** through the whole thing. I like the lighting scheme for that track as well. I can tell you spent a good amount of time on all of your backgrounds. The steel plate wall looks sick. Track 3 and 4 are bomb also, but 5 is the best. The first chain link fence looks kind of crazy, but with the right technique you can roll over it every time. It took me a few faults to figure out how the hell to do the suspended bridge part, and that's exactly how I like it. Thanks, man. You've got some editor skills for sure.

The difficulty of 6 is looking easier than track 5, but with a few almost puzzle like sections. I am trying to make this one kinda flow from slow and difficult to fast and flowing etc.
Real life has taken a hold and I only get a few hours a week for gaming at the moment, but it won't be long before this one is done - will post here in this thread when it's ready.

OK guys, it's been a while, but I finally have a new one up and ready for some riders!

Those of you who have been friended for a long time will know that Trak 6 was actually skipped, and this is mainly due to it not having the flow and style that I wanted, so I just couldn't bring myself to polish it to completion....

Alot of inspiration for Trak 7 came from the newly formed teams Voltron and TrialsCommune - these guys are kicking arse and their tracks inspired me to hit the editor again.

Trak 7 is a medium track that to platinum takes a fair chunk of skill. I tried to make this track replayable.

Hope you guys enjoy it. http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Hi HC,

Good to see you back in the editor and giving us another nice track to play about on. I love the flow on this one - track 7 - it rides really nice. Track 3 has always been my favourite of yours but this one may have just overtaken it. I'm struggling to consistently get up to those top platforms so I can be fast enough to get me a Platinum but I really enjoy playing this one. Oh, and the background is real nice too, your hard work hasn't gone unnoticed!

Great job, recommended to anyone who likes a challenging, fast-flowing map.

Hey LM, really glad to hear that you liked 'Trak 7'. It's been getting pretty cool responses on XBL which is always cool.

It's funny you say that about getting up to the top run, as I have actually changed it slightly to give riders more chance to consistently make it up there - after playing it again today, I thought it just didn't fit the medium theme. All I did was put in a down-slope to hit the first section better, and it helps alot. Please DL it again mate.

As always, thanks for the feedback fellas.

Second track is awesome fun. I love riding sweet jumps.

5th track was so hard. I got over the fence sort of easily, I realized you just have to wheelie before the jump and time it right.

But the next section I gave up on.

7th and newest is a blast also.

Thanks for giving some feedback Mike, and thanks again for making it good feedback! http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Yeah 'Trak 5' isn't for everyone - definitely a step over extreme.

Holy crap that run on Trak 7 is fast!!! I will have to check my top time, but I have a feeling you may have beaten it. http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif

Thanks for taking the time to make a few vids. I don't have a way to capture, so it's much appreciated.

OK checked my time last night, and my best was a 30.721, which just edges out your 30.815 Les. Phew that was close! hehe

F**k me that was an insane run! You wouldn't believe the amount of hate messages I have gotten from Trak5 being "impossible" and then you go and throw a run like that! I will be referring people that video for instructional purposes if you don't mind. http://forum.redlynx.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
