Hello all, ok I have a small question about photoshop. Take a look at the sig below, Im trying to get rid of the white in the background. In Microsoft Photodraw I remember using a command like fit background to picture. Is there anything like this in PS. thanks for the help.

im not sure i understand what u want to do. do u want the white part to be black, or do u want it gone all together?

Gone. I made the background transparent but once its saved and made a jpg, the transparent parts turn white.

Ok that took my three tries lol. try saving it as a gif and not a jpg. It should work that way.

cool, thanks exactly what I wanted. So its just saving it as a .gif huh. Guess I didnt do that good of a job outlining. Thanks.

In PS 6.0 or better you can save for web. In that dialog that appears you can also save it as .png with transparent background. Gif file format only allows for 256 color depth, while PNG-24 is 24bit, thus more colors..and has a transparent channel.
