I know this is a pretty generic thread for a board like this but it could be pretty interesting if people have some good ideas :)
Which historical figures do you think may have been assassins in the AC universe and why? And to make it more interesting, can you think of a game focused around these characters. Here are my examples:

Robin Hood
1191-1216
http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_VrwOLoUXUYI/TC3epgAMimI/AAAAAAAAADI/5eKjqhXFdMo/s1600/robinhood_bbc_america.jpg
Robin Hood is a character from british folklore. He and his band of merry men were outlaws who went up against villains such as Guy of Gisbon, The Sherrif of Nottingham and Prince John, to free England from tyranny. He basically already has the look and arsenal of an assassin and his merry men would make a perfect brother hood with little john in charge of the mercenaries, will scarlet in charge of the theives, Friar tuck in charge of the prostitutes and Alan-a-Dale being the minstrel we can beat on.
The AC3 engine seems custom built for this character as free running through a forest and using a bow and arrow are kind of Hood's specialties and The AC1 story seems custom built to further this story as many depictions of Robin Hood have him as a man who fought with king richard in the crusades. Here he could meet Altair through who he is convinced to start a guild in england upon his return. The series has never involved fictional characters and the main characters have always been origional creations. However Robin was likely based on a real but unknown person who would be the ideal candidate as it would mean the devs could also stick to the folk lore as strictly or loosely as they please.

Guy Fawkes
1591-1606
http://www.thedungeons.com/london/images/main-images/london-guy-fawkes.jpg
Guy Fawkes was basically an assassin. He spent his life fighting for one group of people (Catholics) to try and put an end to another (Protestants.) This can so easily be tweaked to be assassins and templars. He fought on the side of Catholics/Assassins in the 80 years war and returned to England and became instrumental in the gunpowder plot. The idea of the plot was basically to blow up parliment in order to kill king james I and restore a catholic/assassin monarch to the thrown. The plot failed however when the authorities responded to an anonymous tip off and found Fawkes guarding the gunpowder underneath parliment. Fawkes was then captured and tortured for days before giving up his fellow conspiritors who were all sentenced to death for treason. Fawkes himself then killed himself on the steps of the gallows to avoid the agony of being hung drawn and quartered. This would be an interesting new move for the series as it would show the assassins fail in a big way. The game would feature a return of bomb crafting to the series as well as possible references to ezio as his death would have been relativly recent and his influence over the assassins would still be prominent.

Burke and Hare
1828
http://imgs.littlewhitelies.co.uk/uploads/2010/10/burke-and-hare1.jpg
Burke and Hare were Irish immigrants working in Edinburgh. In the early 1800's Surgeons were offering great sums of money for dead bodies for disection and study. Many people resorted to grave robbing but burke and hare jumped straight to murder and in 1828, they killed 16 people and sold them all to Robert Knox, a surgeon who didn't ask questions. The bodycount here is big enough to support an assassins creed game but the relationship between the pair is also very interesting as they go from being strangers to best friends to trying to sell each other out to the police in such a short time and with the victims being mostly unknowns the development team can fasion whatever sort of story they find the most interesting.

Robert Ford
1881 - 1892
http://www.moviecentral.ca/sites/default/files/styles/8col_16x9/public/the-assassination-of-jesse-james.jpg
Robert Ford will forever be known as the man who infultrated Jesse James gang, gained his trust and then shot him in the back of the head. However the potential for an assassins creed story based around him is undeniable. At just 19 years old upon joining the james gang, Ford would make an ideal young upstart assassin and the James gang would make a brilliant brotherhood with Jesse himself at the head as a master assassin who's origins stretch to the civil war.
Now here's where it get's interesting. Picture this, Jesse gets corrupted, Bob kills him. Now, after this happens the public turned against him as James was something of a celebrity so Ford flees to England the home of his great great great grandfather Haytham, . He lives ther for 6 years and eventually finds himself taking on Jack the ripper who he kills but the experience traumatises him and he returns to america a shell of his former self and eventually gets murdered in a bar by a templar grunt as his depression had taken all of the fight out of him.
...and here's something funny, Jesse James just so happened to be missing the finger that assassins customarily cut off.

So those are my examples. Really interested in seeing in what ways people can incorporate historical men and women into an assassins creed game.

Anyway, maybe Michael Collins and Lawrence of Arabia.

Lawrence of Arabia was a british agent who rebelled the Arabs against Turkish , actually many Arabian countries today which are just a American/British colony are on the territory of former huge Ottoman empire , then the Lawrence of Arabia rebelled them agaonst the Turkish and promised to Arabs a huge and united Arabian country , huge "Caliphate" but after the war insted of one huge , united and strong Arabian country the Arabs got a dozens of small , weak and irrelevant countries which will be dependent from the West.
So even today those countries are American/British colonies exploited from USA and UK and which use to finish their dirty jobs , for example behind those terrirosts attacks in Volgograd , Russia last December is responsible the intelligence service of Saudi Arabia , but USA organized and initiated that how they would try to detabilize the Russia , also the riots in Ukraine were also a part of plan how to detabilize the Russia and to get on Russian western border , also CIA used their Islamic fundamentalists (agents) to perform 9/11.....etc

So I think Lawrence of Arabia would be more undercover Templar : ) (like Al Mualim or Haytham) ; )

Id love to play a mystery assassin with no name that wears a dark hood covering most of his face all of the time and your primary weapon is a wooden axe...
And at the end of the game he pulls his hood down and its abraham lincoln haha that would be so cool
