Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

Just quick question:

After a test of the dedicated server with the 2.01 patch, it looks like its only loading into the IL2 FB room not the IL2FB AEP room.

Can anyone else confirm this?

Rgr:

In UBI we have the 4 rooms:

IL2FB DF/COOP
IL2FB ACE DF/COOP

When I start the dedicated server and login it shows the 2 DF rooms. But when I select the (IL2FB ACE) DF room the game only shows up in the IL2FB DF room.

The version number is correct (2.01) but it doesn`t seem to load into the ACE`s room.

Note: It did the samething if you tried to use the fix that someone had come up with.

Its like it has the old gs_luncher from v 1.22.

Does that help?

Also I`m going to try reinstalling the dedicated server 1.11 and add only the 2.01 patch.

LOL, It does help. I`ll ask SPaRX, he hosts both UBI and HL. I only host on HL. Stand by.

And after just installing DS 1.11 and patch 2.01 it`s still only loading into IL2FB room only.

All of my winter missions crash due to some kind of Java related "pointer" error. Doesen't matter if i use the old online maps (1-8) or the new ones (9 and 10) or any other winter map. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

I just spoke to Hunter and he said that NULL POINTER error is caused by one of the objects on the map, probably unreferenced one. Oleg is looking into it. I am not home and cant verify it. If you could try loading blank map without objects to confirm load would be great. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Just did a test, using a fresh install of the IL2Server and all updating patches, and the following maps (with all settings in the various .ini files left at installation default) are broken with the java nullpointer issue.

/ 1/01_1Net16armyWinter1200.mis
/ 2/01_1Net2armyWinter1200.mis

All other maps as they come with the dedicated server patch load up fine (At least on my system, with virgin IL2Server install).

Bump! I'd settle for a bit of friendly advice as to what gets patched by the DS patch! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

My impressions of the last two months revolve around dawns. Pink dawns, grey dawns, misty, rainy and windy dawns, but always dawns; first light. Shadowy Spitfires and quietness . . . . Geoffrey Wellum, First Light.
