Those who play this this great First Shooter game, you gotta go to the www.virtualbattlefieldsystem.com (http://www.virtualbattlefieldsystem.com) or something like that (go to www.bistudio.com (http://www.bistudio.com) to find the exact URL) and watch the Trailer of VBS1, cause it now in public it cost 140 buck or $500 if you buy full pack, but the graphics looks cool, especialy when that paper is fliping when the wind is blowing and its on Flashpoint 1 engine so when flashpoint 2 comes out (same time as BoB) the graphic will be even better.

VBS1 is not a game but a simulation, it is used in U.S. marines and i think some other, its now in publick! strangly, and it don't have any campaing or missions except for 6 missions showing the cpabilities, but it got a hell of a editor in there.

Peace out http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_cool.gif

OMG your kidding me!!
I used to be an avid OFP member, but interest sorta died down. I remember when VBS was first mentioned and there were countless discussions about it's availability.
For those who haven't played OFP, its still the best and most realistic military FPS 'sim' out there. Sure, there are weaknesses, but nothing compares to it atm.

I read about the VBS1 public release on OpFlashpoint CZ and downloaded a trailer of it. It certainly looks like an improvement over OFP.

Visually, it has better textures, more detail and a greater number of effects. However it still looks like the old OFP engine with more stuff thrown into ithttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif (hopefully it dosn't affect framrates too much). Animals, harriers and a greater range or ordinance, amongst other things add even more to a long and ever-growing list of possibile simulations within the program. There's more maps, more units, more more more http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

A review I read, although not very detailed, stated there is a huge improvement in AI, which as players know, was an anoyance in OFP.
They will now flank and give cover fire etc.

I think the high price tag will be a problem for gamers, because although many aspects of the simulation are greatly enhanced, it still apears to be largely running on 2001 engine technology (although i'm just guessing)- So as mentioned graphically - its no http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/smileys-gun2.gif. Also multiplayer... http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/52.gif Aspects or lack thereof like this make many gamers wonder if its worth paying for especially with OFP2 around the corner in all its 2005 technical glory. But as we know graphics are not what VBS1 is selling.

Information about VBS1 state its not a game as OFP is. This is true its not designed as a piece of entertainment, but lets face it, with OFP for many the enjoyment was a realistic battlefield simulator. VBS1 is an even more realistic simulation of the battlefield, so if you enjoyed using OFP for its realism, then VBS1 should be worthy of HD space.

Personally if I had the money now, I would buy VBS1.

However with OFP2 not far off and a lack of cash to spend, I choose to wait. Anyway, most of the improvements we see in VBS1 (AI, greater realism, graphics) should be intergrated and bettered in OFP2, I know we are getting animals for sure http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/59.gif

Please if anybody has bought VBS1 post there thoughts of the game, I mean simulation, whatever http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/35.gif

All the mods and addons for OFP blow VBS1 out of the water. No need to waste a bunch of money on it, when you can get the same stuff for free.
