High everyone, first of all I'd like to say that I cant wait to play PF, looks awesome so far http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I was wondering about time compression tho, since the distance covered by the planes over the pacific were greater than those covered above the Eastern front.

Will the time compression be limited to X8 like in FB? cuz if so then some mission will take several minutes (maybe even half an hour)
at 8X.

Will 16X be available? or maybe like my friend suggested a nav point jumping like in EAW?

ps: sowy if that subject was already covered in another thread I must have missed it

Here's a previous Pacific Fighters thread with some discussion on time compression :

Bump on this one. While I love flying around and looking at the scenery once in a while, I for one don't look forward to hours of flying over the same drab ocean. I'm all for a "skip to next encounter" type of thing like they did in both EAW and CFS2. It may not be totally realistic, but heck, neither is flying at high rates of time compression <ggg.> The good old [alt][n] command in EAW allowed me the time to play the sim in the first place (I have three young kids <ggg.&gthttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif Not that kids might interfere with hours long flying sessions or anything. LOL! All the best, LongHorn

16X time compression means your computer can run missions with 16X the number of objects. A fast, but sterile and boring mission. But it would at least pass quickly. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

My missions do not allow even 2X.

And don't even think about wanting Luthier to give us Warping over the AA guns to safety.

a feature that allows you to "skip to the next "action" or waypoint like Aces of the pacific did in 1992 (and EAW) was absolutely perfect.

And what happens to AI vs AI combat when you Warp over the hated AA guns?

Lexx, you seem to missing something. The "Skip to next encounter" feature litarally means just that. You CANT warp past AA, or bad guys. Think of it as the "next action" key. Jeez man, haven't you ever played EAW? All the best, LongHorn

As in CFS2. You couldn't warp unless the situation was quiescent and you could only warp to the next action point. I liked that feature.
