Ground control will give me vector and height on occasion. How does this apply to the map? What info is this providing?

Just looking for how this info applies to the game.

Thanks.

Vector is compass direction to steer(fly). Height is the height the controller whats you at.

example:

RAF controller: "Raven 1, vector 225, angels 15"

your call sign, steer compass heading 225* and go to 15,000ft.

That's not ground control, these are other flights. They provide their course and altitude on the radio whenever they change course. This can be useful to help you hook back up with your flight if you get separated. Unfortunately, they never bother to identify themselves, so you have no way of knowing whether it's your flight or someone else's.

P.S: When someone starts giving you heading&altitude in between screams of "Where the hell are you!?" and "What the hell are you doing!? - maintain leader's course" you can be sure it's your flight /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
