Thanks for the great screenies!

A question for you Jippo (or any other C-6 wizards), how many ammunition drums were carried for the MG/FF cannons, or were they each limited to just 60 shots?

Cheers http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Standard load was 2 drums per gun, you can see these drums in the screenies and panoramic views. But that doesn't say not more was ever carried. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I suggested to Oleg to model 120-180 rounds per gun.

Looking at the Ju 88 C-6, I guess it will very soon become the all-time LW favourite for ground pounding. Very versatile in its role, hard to shot down with it rugged airframe and great manouveribility, has TEETH for good, and also carries bombs + defensive guns. Pretty fast for a bomber as well.

Really something any DF server vulcher would ask for! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/59.gif

They all just glanced off and the Tiger backed off and got away. If we had a tank like that Tiger, we would all be home today."

After it was refeuled i climbed in.With many manipulations the mechcanics started the turbines.I followed their actions with the greatest of interest. The first one started quite easily.the second caught fire.In no time the whole engine was on fire.Luckily as a fighter pilot i was used to getting quickly out of the cockpit. The fire was quickly put out.The second plane caused no trouble - Adolf Galland (first time in a ME262)

And one point worth noting is that the guns are in 5 degree angle downwards(as well as Revi), and thus well suited for ground pounding.

Got another question for ya:

Was the 5 degree downward incline common to all the gun installations on C-6 variants, or was it tied to specific ground attack versions?

If yes, I take it the guns are still useful against aerial targets?

Thanks again http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

It was common to all versions from C prototypes to R-2 nightfighters. (R is a late C combined with BMW engines)

OK I've pulled myself together long enough to wonder about this - why was the C-6 equiped with the MG/FF cannons, I thought that 151/20 was much better, higher rate of fire, higher muzzle velocity, and only slightly heavier (28 kg Mg/FF - 42 151/20).

Also, why haven't the Germans used unguided aerial rockets more, like the Allies did. They only used those big anti-bomber stream rockets. Unlike the allies who would put unguided rockets on anything that could fly (Typhoon, P-47, P-38, B-25, Mossie, Beaufighter...the Soviets used them from day one). For example, they developed the anti-tank rocket Panzerblitz in late 1944 although they could have used it earlier. The Brits used unguided anti-tank rockets as early as 1942. Strange since they pioneered the rocket technology during the war.

MG/FF is easier to put in an existing airframe. Ju 88 was in the end only a bomber that developed into something completely different than it was designed to be. Ammo drums can be easily stored anywhere in the cockpit not like huge ammo boxes that must have belts running to the guns and there are crew members that can load the weapons when they run dry.

Some C's were equipped with MG 151/20's but the most common variants had the MG/FF.

So will it be included in the patch after this one? Or will it perhaps be available for download as soon as its FM and DM are ready, as an individual flyable plane rather than one big patch, so that we don't have to wait for the necessary build-up of tons of various fixes in one big package?

There are 7 different variants, 3-4 crew positions each. Altogether 25 crew positions.

Of the seven variants 5 have been already accepted by Maddox Games, and I trust that the remaining 2 should have no particular problems meeting their standards. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

What wonderful news! It is terribly sad that we have to wait for a Ju-88 when far too many fantasy airplanes have already been finished. Still there is no flyable Pe-2. Why is the community obsessed with aircraft that never saw service? Sorry for the random rant, Ju-88 looks great, can't wait to try the many variants.

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

That, a flyable Pe-2, and bombs on the Hurricane, and I'd be happy as a lamb!

sweet work http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/11.gif It will make a great addition to the game. My flying skills (lack there of actually) need more forgiving planes and this one will be a blast. Thanks for all the hard work.
