http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif WOW.

Maybe too much time, but still very cool.

Edit: I just got this image in my head of what I would do if I were driving and I saw that thing being towed! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Another edit: I just read the description...first off, 2 more years to be complete?! What else needs to be done?

Secondly, he must have a sense of humor because it says he likes to listen to Wagner while sailing. I can just see that thing sailing on the lake with Ride of the Valkyries blasting http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/88.gif http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/88.gif

To be historically accurate....

Will he run his Graf Spee aground and blow it up to prevent capture by the Royal Navy as happened in September 1939?

Oh and I forgot...the Captain shot himself to avoid disgrace.

If he was a dedicated modeller there would be no choice http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I can imagine some couple out on the lake in a canoe, drifting along, thinking romantic thoughts...And the GRAF SPEE cruises up, playing Wagner....hehe.

A few years ago they did some coverage on guys who built R/C naval models and had actual battles with the things, firing compressed air "cannon" that used ball-bearings for projectiles.

Why does it have an Me109E written on it?

yup, and looks like he cheated and is using a low poly model, *shakes head*

ME109E...interesting...
About the "pocket battleship-canoe"- I have seen it before, I can't remeber where. I don't remember the Wagner or ME109E but those details just make the whole idea quite a bit stranger...

Once he's finished the Graf Spee he should build the Tirpiz just so I can come along in my scale lancaster (with Tallboy option) and completely ruin his day.

If he doesn't like that idea how about building the Bismark to be attacked by scale stringbags?

The propellor is there to keep the pilot cool. Switch it off and watch them sweat!

The ME109E label is interesting

In Australia buiding scale model RC battleships that attempt to sink each other with guns firing airgun pellets is quite a big hobby.

As a matter of interest the real Graf Spree is only under 25 feet of water and is being salvaged with Uruguay government support as part of a proposd Uruguan tourist attraction.

Wow! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/sonar.gif

But what it really needs are 12 gauge semi-automatic shotguns for the cannons. The bloody thing could start laying down broadsides.

Stick it in your swimming pool and use it for home defence.
