View Full Version : Limited mode: Well...my hope is GONE!

Today i bought a Ethernet cable and my connection is pretty well right now...so i tried to test my connection in multiplayer games...but...in Assassins Creed 4 Multiplayer i still have still annoying issue...it isnt my connection Ubisoft...its yours servers

My connection isnt the problem...i can see my green NAT in the wolfpack off-line mode...

as you are offline, the green NAT in this case is irrelevant!!

i have no problem connecting nor playing (Except when in group due to bugs and P2P matchmaking), its your router and connection, so if you need help, then give us more info and answer our questions, otherwise dont blame Ubisoft as they clearly state MP requirements in their website FAQs.

and yes AC MP is based on P2P connections not on dedicated servers, so thats why you have no problem playing other MP games with dedicated servers and have problems with AC.

Ok...so how i can solve this problem?i`ve tried everything in my support ticket...i also noticed that in the Launcher.log it says.

"INFO ProxyDetect.cpp (116) Proxy is set to automatic, but no proxy detected."

ok forget the logs as there are nothing useful there, lets start by your router and other walkthroughs:

1. Whats the model and did you forward the ports for AC4?

2. Is your connection based on 3g/4g or ADSL/Cable/Fiber?

3. Did you try to disable your windows and router firewalls and launch MP? (as most probably limited mode is a result of blocked connection, im not denying that sometimes ubisoft servers are down but they get fixed quickly and wouldnt be your case that you can never connect)

4. Did you enable upnp port mapping in your router settings?

I take it you have been talking to support about this?


In some rare cases - it's been found to be a product key issue - some users have been offered new product keys by support - which once activated, have stopped the limited mode.

This can sometimes be a last resort, but does work for some strange reason [I'm not support so wouldn't like to guess why]


I am not suggesting this is the case for you, since I don't know if you have ports open etc - which maybe required but if you have not contacted support, they will ask you try things to get the current key working, so please do contact them.

Like I said though, support can help - as long as your router and hardware is set up correctly in the first place and you STILL have limited mode, it's worth contacting them ;)

So, TLDR - please make sure you have spoken to support - and they are aware of the ongoing issue you have!
