View Full Version : The rope dart came along way too late in the game.

I really dislike when items are finally accessible so late in a game. I barely got to use the rope dart. It was also strange that shortly after unlocking it the games puts you into a mission where you are not even allowed to use it. It was one of the few things I disliked about the game and I know it probably didn't bother some of you but I had hoped to use it more so it was disappointing to me. Overall though it's an excellent game and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

It disappointed me too. Should of never completed most of the side quests before sequence 10. It still makes a great additional double tool kill when you're out of ammo, though.

Yup.. it was wasted. Infact I don't remember using it at all except for full sync requirements.

I have used it in one mission. Where I needed to do the 100% sync. It came way late and I have almost forgot about it...

Same. I forgot about it too, lol. Maybe if someone told Edward.. The rope dart consists of two parts. the rope and the dart! I'd have remembered it lol

Hah, that line in Revelations was a classic!

Revelations did have some actual good writing though. I'd say Darby is the best Assassin's Creed writer so far.

I agree the rope dart if my favourite tool ever in the franchise so I was disappointed it took so long to get it. It annoyed me that you can't change where it is on the weapon selector too so you have press left 3 times to use it.

Yes, I was expecting it a bit earlier, too. (But who am I to talk, I played until sequence 10 with one gun and one holster before upgrading to two. Oh the shame I brought to Edward... lol)

Oh, how could you do that?:D The first thing I've done was fashioning a new holster :)

I'm a beginner. I would like a month's course on crafting holsters please. ^^

You must deposit the fee first. Which would be ten kegs for me and each of my crew.

I agree. It's nice from a story perspective, if considered against the memory that comes a couple before this and why it's given to you. In terms of gameplay it is disappointing though.

I think the ropedart is one of the coolest weapons ever...but there is rarely a useful specific use for it. Anytime you could use it, you might as well use 2 or three other things. In games that manage their weapons well, you feel accomplished when you figure out the best weapon to use in that situation. In AC, it's whatever you feel like looking at in that moment (unless an optional objective specifically tells you to use one).

I made all the holsters and containers as soon as possible. I was always on the look out for the right animals and usually had the skins in advance. I love how this game actually shows all the weapons on your character.

Exactly. AC4 basically told you what weapon to use and when.
