sounds pretty bad I know! But hay, he stole 2 kills from me already and worse he turned and ran leaving our bombers unprotected; I was half way back too base before I realized what he was doing. So I turned and engaged the enemy. The very next mission was another escort, staying on his wing 1 min too target here they come, didn't take long and he's in trouble asking for help! Where was I, on his six 1 plane link back watching his plane burned down around him! Soon as he was gone, couple short burst and the I-16 fallowed him down. What I've described here is single player DATE: 1 November 1941 PLANE: BF-109E4 MISSION: Transfer Ogorodnoye W.-Simferopol S. EVENT: 16:33 Shot down I-16 NE of Krymskoye Now here's where I needed a feature in FB that's not there, least not for me! I'm flying second in command promoted to ObFw. But after losing our fearless leader! I had no command functions for the rest of the flight. The rest of my guys just fallow me around or come to help if I call, but I couldn't direct them to attack or break off, regroup anything, you don't think they know what I did, do you? LOL! Anyway would be nice if after the loss of a flight leader command functions work for next in command? But hay! I'm having a lot of fun with this sim more than any other flight sim on my drive! Why do you have to post your garbage here? Just make yourself the damn flight leader thats why FB has options.

Don't open the pod doors Hal! LOL! I know I shouldn't of done it, but it's not like I shot em myself, started out at the bottom trying hard to follow leader and learn more, even from AI, and not doing to bad ether, Well except letting fearless leader get nailed.

Consider yourself lucky with AI. Try flying online in dogfight servers and see how many Humans will steal your kill. And they have a brain many more times the power of AI! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif

I dread to think what would happen if you started shooting them en masse!

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

This thread is ten months old! It's not like we've run out of topics, and FB has passed through four upgrades since this discussion started.

On the other hand, my flight leader pulled the same thing last night in BoE, flying V. 1.22 aircraft (BoE still hasn't patched to AEP). Before I headed back for the (unprotected) bombers, I thought seriously about taking this AI geek out.

So, flying over Crimea or flying over Normandy...covering IL2s or B-17s, some things never change.
