Hi guys, I'm new to IL/FB and in the process of ordering the Sim thru Ebay, should arrive later this week. The question that I have is the process to add-on AEP V2.04. Do I just install the original sim on my HD and download AEP 2.04 or are there some interim patches, updates that need to be installed beforehand?

I assume you mean the Gold pack FB/AEP. Install Forgettn battles, install AEP. Get the AEP2.01 patch, get the AEP2.04 patch, install 2.01, then 2.04 and your up to date.

All patches are installed AFTER your initial installation!

Like scorpionworm said, you'll need to Dl and install patch v2.01 first then DL and install patch v2.04 (there is no v2.02 or 2.03)

The patch v2.01 is a big one (102mb!)and even if your copy won't be there for another week, I'd suggest DL'ing it and the v2.04 (19mb) patches and having them on hand.

I have all of my IL2, IL2:FB, and IL2:FB:AEP patches on one CD currently in the event I build a new system the process is much easier. I even added my own readme files to clarify everything as it can be a bit confusing at times.

Tony

You dont make it clear what FB version you are purchasing so....

If you are buying IL2FB on its own then to get to 2.04 you will have to buy the Aces expansion pack to take it to version 2.00 and then install the 2.01 patch before installing 2.04.

If however you buy the FB Gold pack which is IL2FB and AEP in the same box then you will only need the 2.01 patch which you can then (as others have said) patch to 2.04

The latest patch for "standard" FB is 1.22.

Thanks for the info to all that have posted above. ASM, I guess I'm buying just IL/FB--- is there a website where I can purchase the Aces Expansion and download it? I'd rather not purchase the AEP at a retail outlet (takes too much time); if I can purchase it and download it on-line that would work the best for me.

Hi Tony and welcome aboard.

I don`t think there is option to download AEP online. Retail store would be the only option... or ebay http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Get AEP where ever you can. It will frustrate you at times, make you say bad words often and best of all, make you loose sleep having about as much fun as you can sitting staring at a moniter.

Welcome to your new habit.

Yep as Ivan says Tony, You can't download AEP anywhere at the moment (legally at anyrate) so your best bet is your local PC Games store wherever that is, or buy it online http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Ok lets clarify this

1) Install FB

2) Ignore all original FB patches they come with AEP

3) Install AEP (you have to buy this seperately if you do not have the "gold" pack.

4) Install the two AEP patches in the correct order 2.01 then 2.04 ..

(Note there are no 2.02 or 2.03 they effectively do not exist)
