ok so you got the enamy in your sight... you pull the trigger on the yoke...
the question is how on WWII aircraft does the pull on the trigger = a bullet being fired? is it an electronical signal or a mechanical i,e i pulls a wire ehich in turn pulls another till it reaches the cannon or machine gun?

Electrical. I don't know the details but I'm guessing there was some sort of solenoid that would activate the firing pin.

Jeez, I guess I was wrong, it was electricity after all http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

When you press the trigger it pulls the gerbil's tail & it runs around the wheel until it gets tired. Then the guns stop firing. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/53.gif http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/10.gif

That the same Gerbil Ubi's technical help line uses in the 0ffice ?, the one that runs on its wheel to power the fax / email printer..... that is the fax / email printer, that feeds the complaint / come help requests out of the fax / email printer and into the shredder, that inturn shreds it into the little Gerbils house as bedding... which encourages the Gerbil to pedal like crazy on its wheel to power the fax / email printer.....is it that one?

You didn't really think they read them did you?

That's a completely different gerbil. The one at UBI runs the wheel at the fax, yes, but it also runs that wheel to produce the speed with which pages load on this forum. The aircraft Gerbil gets pay for mileage, combat time, and rounds fired. The Rodent Union doesn't want these two critters doing the same job for obvious reasons.

http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif I mean, look at the Rodent Union in general. Even they have become politically correct. I can remember when they were simply the RBU (Rat B@st@rd Union), but no, they can't use that name anymore, it's hurtful and disempowering http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I once knew a guy who accidentally replaced an office gerbil with a machine gun gerbil, with hilarious consequences! Turns out .50 cal is more than enough to drop a xerox.

Leave the gerbils alone or I'll tell Richard Gere! http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
