Nice, I can already sort of play Behind Blue Eyes, will be nice to slow it down and learn it more completely if it's one of the 5. Other than that I think I might be more looking forward to the bass parts than guitar, except for Won't Get Fooled Again. Whenever I hear that song all I can hear is that one bass riff over and over and over and over and over.

No won’t get fooled again :( I bet it’s because of the length of the break in the middle of the song, or maybe the length of the song as a whole…

Aww, this was the one song that I hoped wouldn't be in the set, but knew that it had a high chance of being included. It's so repetitious and got so much airplay back in the day that it just got kind of old fast. That or Magic Bus over and over and over.

Nope, The Seeker is the one song from the pack I care about the most too.I really adored that song in Guitar Hero III back in 2007, even tried to learn the main riff on my acoustic guitar but failed miserably.
The other songs in the pack are pretty solid to meh on guitar in my opinion, but basslines sound like fun.

Sorry the reply with a quote kept screwing up so I am doing it this way.

I think I heard it a long time ago, not sure though. I could not tell you if I like or do not like it or even famaliar. Will have to listen to it again to tell you. I am kind of on a budget also with the holiday season in full swing and i have been playing more BF because of my freezing issue. So I am buying songs I know right now and really like. After the holidays I will go back and listen to the ones I have not bought yet.

The thumb wrap is a good suggestion, because using the index finger can be a bit tough for some people. Even a guy with small hands like myself can pull it off, so it's not really that much of a stretch.

Also I'm kind of glad on Baba O'riley that they added some playing to the intro much like they did on Final Countdown so I don't have to stand around twiddling my thumbs for half the song. :D

Try making the G chord with your ring finger on the low E string, pinky on the high E, and middle finger on the A string. That leaves your index finger to go directly to the B string and you just drop the ring and middle fingers down one string each and voila, you have a C chord in a flash. I used this trick often when playing Squeeze Box and other G to C songs that switch often and fast.

I'll try this. I broke my hand in a motorcycle accident a few years ago. I don't have very good use of my pinky. Its also not properly set, so playing an F chord is difficult. However, I can stretch it across 5 frets starting from the nut. Good with the bad I guess. Thanks for the tip, still worth trying.

I am having the same problem (on xbox). I leveled up the first few phrases of Who are You in riff repeater, but when I tried to move ahead to select a later phrase. Froze the xbox up entirely. I haven't tried, Pinball Wizard yet, but Who Are You definitely doesn't like Riff Repeater.

Sucks too, 'cause it forces me to start the song at the minimum difficulty. And it's nearly six and a half minutes long. That's a lot of playing time to only level the entire song up, just slightly.

I've had this problem pretty much every time I bought a new DLC when it just came out. You know it'll freeze when you see that the next section of the song is at 0% (not lvled at all).

So as annoying as this is, the easy fix is to just let the song run till the section you're looking to practice on. Once you reach that section (while the song is running and not from RR), you can hit RR and it won't crash. But you'll have to do it again if you're re-jumping into a 0% lvled section.

Hope that made sense.

Makes perfect sense. A strange little glitch, but I like easy fixes... So that works for me. I rarely jump right into riff repeater, because I usually like to play through the song a couple of times before I really start working on it, but when I saw "Who Are you" was starting me from the ground floor... I though riff repeater might be the best solution. That's probably why I've never run into this before.

Thanks for the tip.

Man, Baba O'Reilly was fairly easy on Bass. I loved it because I love the song though :)

I wish I had a bass... Some of these tracks would be great. I used to borrow a buddies every now and again, but haven't touched one since 2014 came out. Oh well... Maybe a purchase for next year.

Anyway, having now played all the Who songs, I've got to say the Rocksmith team did a great job selecting these. Like many of you, I was a bit disappointed that we didn't get Won't Get Fooled Again, but I was super impressed that we got The Seeker. Of the entire pack, I'd have to say that The Seeker is without question, my favorite, followed by Behind Blue Eyes. I'm still sort of puzzled by the inclusion of Baba O'Reilly, as it's not exactly a guitar oriented song, and there are many other songs that may have worked a bit better (in my personal opinion, it's not really that fun to play either).

But every now and again, I guess I have to step back and look at the bigger picture, and remember that Rocksmith isn't only about guitar. There's a lot of Bassists in this crowd too, and it sounds like Baba O'Reilly is pretty fun on bass. How about the other songs, I'd imagine the entire pack would be pretty fun on bass...

Honestly, I look at Rocksmith as whetting my appetite for other songs. So I'll want to go outside the game to learn other songs by the various bands. Either classic stuff like The Who or newer stuff like Muse.

I'm avoiding alt tunings now for songs that I don't HAVE TO HAVE. I'm lazy.

But if you got enough songs in each alternate tuning you could spend some good time in each without just having to change it up for each song... That's what I do, anyway, sort by tuning and then just do a mini-session within my playtime for an alternate tuning here or there.

Agreed. And that's why I bought the pack even though I'm not really a Who fan. I'd still like to see some more challenging bass lines in RS though. I was shocked to see some slap and pop notation in Behind Blue Eyes though. Doesn't quite sound like Flea's slap though. ;)

I definitely agree with this. I changed my tuning for "Behind Blue Eyes", and figured I'd play around with Bush and Alice Cooper at the same time. Baba O'Reilly, however, is in a sharper tuning that doesn't coincide with any other songs at this point (if I recall correctly).

It would be handy if you sorted by tuning the 'slightly-sharp' songs (Machinehead, No More Mr. Nice Guy, Don't Look Back in Anger, etc.) would sort by their respective 'sharp tunings', (ie. Bush, Alice Cooper, and Behind Blue Eyes would be sorted together as tuning E Standard - A447, instead of being filed alphabetically among all the E Standard songs). There's not 'a ton' of songs tuned a little sharp, but there's just enough that I have a hard time remembering exactly which ones are which tuning.

After the most recent patch, if you sort by tuning, the off-pitch E standard songs are all together at the end of the E standard songs.

Excellent. I remember reading somewhere that the patch had been released for the PC and PS3, but for one reason or another it was going to be slightly delayed on X-Box. I didn't realize this was part of the update. Good news.

Until it's released for X-Box, I guess I'll just have to sit here and shake my fist at it as I scroll through my song list. That's alright though... I do that anyway, sometimes. You know... just for fun.

I am not a gamer. I have only spent time playing the Guitar Hero/Rock Band type games and now Rocksmith/Bandfuse. I have bought just about every game of this type available with the exception of the Green Day game. I even have Guitar Hero Aerosmith and Rock Revolution. In all that time I have never had instance to complain about the DLC that these various games have made available. And I bought a lot of it. So I could not be more serious when I say that releasing a The Who Song Pack for Rocksmith and not including Won't Get Fooled Again is really about the dumbest thing I have ever encountered in all my years on Earth. I can only come to one conclusion; the people making the decisions at Ubisoft have never played a guitar, don't care about people who do play guitar and probably have never even heard a guitar being played before. There is literally no other explanation.

Let's not get carried away, now... I know there's a lot of people that wanted "Won't Get Fooled Again", and it is an interesting omission. However, what's here is great, and The Who is one of those bands that has so many songs that would be suited for this game.

As with any band, there's songs that maybe some of us think would be better, but we don't make those decisions. To accuse Ubisoft of not caring about people who play guitar is a little extreme, as I feel they've pretty much done a fantastic job to this point. (Minus the glaring omission of a lot of the amazing hair metal that dominated the eighties... Ahem...) These tracks are a lot of fun, and honestly, I would take "The Seeker" and "Pinball Wizard" over "Won't Get Fooled Again". I would have loved to have had them all, but I am more than happy with what we got.

Oh, and by the way, you know that issue the 1.02 patch caused US users to not be able to login to Uplay which you fixed the same day? Well looks like it's now affecting the rest of us as a result of the patch being released here, but no fix yet.

Could be the fact that there's a lull in the middle of the song where only the synth and drums do anything for 1:10.. Also keep in mind Rock Band got WGFA on disc. Sometimes it's harder to get songs like that as DLC.

Well, when you've been given the answer time and time again, but refuse to accept it and continue to blame Ubisoft for something out of their control, what response would you have preferred? Clearly the actual answer wasn't doing it. I guess you also didn't appreciate my sarcastic response as a result... well... then, I guess, you tell us, what response do you want? As nothing we're saying, neither the truth nor fiction, seems to be satisfactory to you... and by satisfactory, I mean that it doesn't quell your irrational reaction to fantasies of conspiracies against you... So... whatever.

There is literally no other explanation.

It was Socrates that said, "I know that I know nothing." Because you cannot suss the point of their selection, it does not follow that they must have no justification for said selection. Maybe they plan to do another Who pack, and that's going to anchor it. You don't know. Yet you conclude. Nice.

I wouldn't want Old Time Rock n' Roll as part of a Bob Seger pack. I could think of half a dozen better songs that I'd prefer... Note the pronoun there? I? Sometimes I think a lot of us forget that the only demographic we really represent is the one represented by that pronoun... which is to say, my opinion of songs and your opinion of songs aren't the be all end all of song selection. You can't please everyone all of the time, but you can get petty people really pissy when you don't do exactly what they want when they want it. I, I, I... Well, I am perfectly happy with Ubisoft releasing the songs Ubisoft determines is best for the longterm continuation and health of Rocksmith. I presume they know what that is more than any single one of us.

Yeah, I have seen the explanations, all unnoficial, about how it's all the fault of SCEE. What I was trying to convey, unsuccessfully it would appear, is the sheer frustration of this happening time and time again. Ubisoft and SCEE should work together to resolve this so it doesn't reoccur, and let us know about any delays so we're not left guessing.

Anyway, lets leave it at that, no need to get personal.

Maybe the license wasn't available or maybe they are saving it for another pack. There are quiet literally several other explanations. You clearly do not care enough about what goes into the game to pay attention to it or are just too lazy to go find all the videos. You are completely missing my point. I don't mean that "Enter Sandman" or "Old time rock and roll" are the best songs of the respective artist (that is pure opinion and not even worth discussing). They are the most commercially successful songs of the artist. You would think "We won't get fooled again" which is one of The Who's MOST COMMERCIALLY Successful songs would be included in the DLC pack. That's the point I am making. They are marketing to the masses so it only makes sense they would try to have as many big well known songs as possible.

Get down from your high horse. Nobody is getting pissy or petty or whatever. We are just discussing, what seems to most people on this board that a hit song that almost everyone thought would be in the pack is not. I think others are right, they are saving the song for a later dlc pack or the next version of the game. Much like they saved "Everlong" from the foo fighters for 2014. When the foo fighters pack came out people were asking the exact same thing, "Where's Everlong"?

I remember the days when people on the Usenet knew the command line instructions, so the shortcuts were kind of inside jokes. Of course, some had functionality, kind of like the HTML code and others are less useful. I added a little cat pipe grep append statement for a little more fun. :D

I'd completely forgotten about using those on forums, but I haven't used a non-corporate bulletin board in over 12 years. Had a friend who ran a slew of bulletin boards from his own place in the late 80's to early 90's. Let's just say most of his content was unprintable in these forums.
