We are starting up an online war that will last for 6 to 8 months and are looking for squads to fly for the Italians and X FliegerKorps.

CR42's, G-50's, 109's and some 190's late in war, Torpedo bombers and Stuka dive bombers plus the 110. Maybe even the MC-202 if it becomes flyable soon.

War starts May 6th. Check us out.

Hi I dont want to be rude, but do you know what your sig in your banner means?
You wrote that in russian letters and they are read little different:
~249ti IDR :/ and they even dont have letter like I, it rather means nr 1 in rome alphabet.
Im not russian but it looks little silly for me, ofcourse if that was your intension then sorry.

CyC is my new home!

Pentallion, I believe the Italian IL-2/FB community might be interested.

You will find them here:

you dont have to play as italians do you? I hope you can fly germans as well because the Italians have a bad reputation, and me being so superficial, i have to be in a decent reputaional force. Acually, i dont mind, but really, are there ather axis countries you can fight for?

From what I've read about the Malta campaign, the Italian airforce was more up for a fight than the Luftwaffe. I seem to remember in Malta Spitfire, a book about the Canadian Ace Beurling who was at Malta during the siege. He noticed the Luftwaffe were more cautious than the Italians and the Italian pilots attacked with alot more agression than their Luftwaffe counterparts.

The Italians did have alot of losses and set backs in WW2, but it was due to poor, inadaquate equipment and organisation than a lack of bravery on behalf of the troops.
The Italian army in Africa is a good example, their equipment was out of date or ineffective and supply was a constant problem.

It doesn't though. The second letter is the equivelent to the english "D". The third letter is the equivalent to "R". The first letter isn't even Russian...The closest to "I" would be one that looks like this: bI. Although I'd have to see the Russian words that IAP stands for.

I'm a second year Russian student if that lends any weight to my words. I'm not a native Russian.

Here are some qoutes from the Beurling book

page 132
"We had more height than Jerry and were waiting for him. He turned tail for home. Mostly Jerry is built that way. He'll run and fight another day when the odds don't look good to him. The eyeties on the other hand, will stay and fight it out far oftener than the Germans will"

p140
"I had learned something else on that flip something i'd often heard but never seen. It was the Macchis, the Eyeties who came in and mixed it with us, not the Messerschmitts. All through the party the Huns had sat up high looking for cold meat to pounce on but keeping the hell out of the fracas. It was like that a good part of the time. The jerries are probably over all better pilots but they certainly let the eyeties do their fighting for them when the going gets tough."

Take your reputation and shove it.

IAP should be written inverted N, A, Russian P (like pi) AFAIK, but I would not make such a fuss about it...

I had given you the link in case you wanted to advertise there in English Pentallion, a lot of us can read it (and you can always learn Italian)

mcplkelly does not deserve any attention, IMHO: he's just a sad little troll who is trying to start a flame because he doesn't get any...

pdog, there's a section for squad registration.

Red Russian, thanks for pointing that out, I should point out myself, however, that NONE of my sig is in Russian. Perhaps that will clear up the confusion.

To all others: The campaign runs from June 1940 to August 1942. Until January of 41, it is just the British vs the Italians. Then in January the Germans show up and the British are outnumbered but have the advantage that the battle's in their part of the pool.

In July of 41, having taken Crete, more German planes arrive and things get tough for the British based in Malta.

From Jan. 42 to the finish, the Germans and Italians really put the squeeze on the British.

But Oleg86, I in English is I, not N. Who said I wrote ANYTHING in Russian? That seems to be the misconception about my sig. It is in ENGLISH!!!
