I love the elevator concept, but it looks stupid when it protrudes through the sails on the Jackdaw. I haven't checked any other ships, but I'm sure it happens there too. It would have look a lot cleaner, and better IMO, if it were facing towards the back of the ship. Besides, that's usually how pulley systems work. You don't need to have this huge arm sticking out. You should just drop down from the same pulley that lifted you up. It's possible to engineer a pulley system that allows you to go up and down using the same counter weight. All you'd have to do is use a break. Kennway already kicks something to allow him to jet up, you can also do that when propelling down. You don't need to have a different elevator system for up and down. Just some feedback for future AC games.
