one minute it's smooth 60 fps next minute it drops to that laggy 30 fps. What were you thinking ubiosoft????? splinter cell blacklist and far cry 3 runs sweet smooth as butter I don't know how this happened. These next gen consoles are a joke.

That would be the game only using double buffered Vsync, which drops to 30 if you can't maintain 60. You can use D3DOverrider to force triple buffering which will give you a variable framerate between 30 and 60. But this will cause other screen issues such as judder and stuttering.

I have same problem as you. I found turning off v-sync gets rid of the lag, but the down-side of this is the really bad screen tearing. :(

My Specs:

i7 920
GTX 770 (latest drivers)
12GB RAM
WIN 7 Pro 64

According to Ubisoft, you should just get better hardware. That is there official fix. Even if you destroy the reccomended specs.

Btw, wtf happened to the engine? It was utilizing triple-buffered vsync in the previous game. And now only double. Lame.

RecKoNinG_NinE, we've got two options:
1) turn off vsync and deal with screen-tearing;
2)
use D3DOverrider to force triple buffering

What you can do is disable V sync and force like 58 fps. You ll get alot less tearing and good performances.

Or you can get a 120hz monitor, it will also reduce tearing alot.

I suggest to wait for G-sync.

I am using the GD235hz and i love it but right now its really not the best.

From what i heard the new 144hz benQ as the best image quality in the ''>119hz market ''

If you want best of both worlds - http://120hz.net/ I personally own two monitors made by Asus 2560/1400p for 3rd person racers and side scrollers. Asus 144hz for first person shooters.

The gamer in me feels like G-Sync will fail. Hope this monitor truly changes issues with stuttering. If so I will buy one. For now I refuse to get my hopes up.

Linus @ NCIX tried some and say it will be a game changer... he say 45 fps looks like 70 with this .
