Hello all,

I have a question, to make sure it is not just me, but when you run the Campaign Gen from BoE for Berlin 1946 on a Me262...does your computer pause for about couple seconds (3-4 sec)right before the B-17 formation comes into the screen? If so, is there a way to make not do that long pause? When it does I can see that the HD is being accessed then it continues to run fine. I run the following:

PIV 2.4C
1GB PC3700 XMS CRUCIAL
ASUS P4C800E-Deluxe!
ATI Radeon 9700 PRO 128MB
Maxtor 120 GB SATA x 2
Lite-On 48x24x48x CDRW

Never had this happen with either IL2 or IL2:FB but neither has had B-17 formations as massive as found in BoE!

Your input/help is welcomed.

You're playing on the German side right?

I believe (I could be wrong) that this is because the B17s are not taking off from anywhere, but instead are materialising in mid-air at a specific place and time.

When they all appear it causes your system to stop for a second or two while they are all loaded.

Correct, I am flying German Me262A1A over Berlin. I Imagined that they do not appear in the beginning of the game but instead "Materialize" a la Star Trek somewhere in the Berlin map, that is when I notice the pause. So it is not my system then, good! Just wanted to make sure that it's "normal". Thank you Huxley!

the second the freeze begins, hit pause, ctrl-f2 to the enemy aircraft if you have that enabled, and look around them, let the game cache all the textures etc, do the same for your own a/c. also give your guns a quick burst as i sometimes get a pause on the first squeeze of the trigger. helps for me.

When planes are created after the game has started, your system will freeze for just a bit. It doesn't matter what kind of mission (single, campaign, etc.) you are flying.

Yes. Happens when new a/c on either side are spawned after the mission is underway. You get used to it, but the first couple of times I worried that my system was about to crash. Since it normally takes place before the target is reached or the action begins, it seems to be more a distraction than a problem.
