Well then you'd better be a bigger pirate fan according to these guys.

From all I've seen I think they're probably right.

He called Ezio "Easy-O" so he cant be much of an AC fan.

Yeah. Plus the fact that he alluded to Ezio being clandestine and mysterious like Altair... lolwut?

To me, it sounds like he's just talking about how being able to do more than assassinate things makes them feel like less of a mysterious character.

which doesn't make sense to me. If I didn't know any of the Assassins from the games, they would look mysterious to me

I have to agree that AC protagonists are less and less mysterious... I think this has to do a lot with the approach of each game. AC1 put the player in the shoes of the assassin Altair by showing what makes him an assassin, what the assassin order is about and Altair's role in it but it didn't focus that much on the man under the hood. However, by progressing the story, we got to know Altair's thoughts and the way he sees the creed but also his evolution (in terms of ideals and maturity) throughout the game. But all this process was done in a very cold and distant way unlike the later instalments where we followed the personal life of the main characters closely and not just their lives as assassins. Not only that but small things like having the hood always up or being less talkative and more moody avoids creating this feeling of familiarity and leaves room for speculation and mystery. While Altair thought deeply about the creed in a rational and objective way, Ezio was all about basic emotions and Connor was constantly sharing his feelings for his people and for his village or showing off his naivety. It also helps that we don't know (ignoring ACR and the book The Secret Crusade) much about Altair's life. Also worth mentioning that Altair isn't the "hero type" like Ezio and Connor that fights against evil and does good deeds like beating up unfaithful husbands or being super friendly to anyone that doesn't wear a red coat.

I don't even care if this game is more Pirate than Assassin. Hell, I might even prefer that. I'm craving a fully realized pirate game more right now than I am another Assassin's Creed (not that I don't love AC, it's just that I could wait a year or two longer).

First off I doubt anyone can see/play a preview and decide how much of a pirate game and how much of an assassin game this is. The pirate stuff is what's new, so ofc they will focus on this in previews. Secondly I'm find either way tbh. Like both assassin's and pirates.

**** no. I'm just here to chill. I hate AC and all it stands for, all those crappy boring settings and blandass characters. And the stupid templar assassin trope. All I look for in it are splosions and titties. Or better yet, sploding titties!

I guess they made this game with you, and your "kind" in mind.

After all, sadly, more people enjoy 'splosions and cinematic sequences in games than actual thoughtful gameplay and you know, actual thinking.

Couple of things-

-There's been ONE game since Ezio, you can hardly call it a downhill curve
-He was pushing 60 at the end of Revelations... what do you want, Centenarian's Creed?

Ezio was 51 in the beginning of Revelations and 52 at the end of Revelations :nonchalance:
Also, Altair almost qualifies for Centenarian's Creed - almost.

Well however old he was, if they had continued making games about him it would be milking the franchise to an unbelievable extent.

Also, geriatric Altair is different, since we only played as him for like 5 minutes and he could barely walk.
