I got an X45 today, installed the Saitek smart technology program, and downloaded adlabs6's IL-2 profile. My problem is that whenever I use the pinkie switch or the mode switch to change my control options, I enter the gunsight view. Neither inputs are bound to that command in the profile or in IL-2. Can anyone with an X45 help me out? I'll ke fiddling with it in the mean time.

Nevermind, I've fixed it. I remapped gunsight from Delete to the unused J. I've no idea why pinkie and mode switch inputs would register as Delete, maybe someone can explain.

LOL I just tried his this morning did the same thing. I read his readme then decided to just make my own its easier to learn the curve if you decide where everything goes. I have one but faile dto pull it from machine before it went down so my back up machine needed it all done again. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

I started using my X45 before Saitek had reliable drivers and profiling. Consequently I use Dhauzimmer's 3rd party drivers. While a bit more difficult to program initially, they're actually more flexible than the genuine article, so I've never swapped back to the Saitek software.

Ok, I found the answers. What your calling "gunsight mode" on the delete key, isn't gunsight mode. Gunsight mode is switched by pressing "Shift+F1".

What your seeing is the X45 refreshing its button condition when the pinkie switch is pressed.

The view angle controls are mapped to two areas in my profile. First, the AUX switch is the equivalent of "wide/normal/guncam" in each of its positions, "rear/middle/forward". Secondly, you can change the angle of view with the mouse hat switch, in very small increments.

So, what I'd say is happening, is that your leaving the AUX switch in the forward "guncam view" postion all the time, and changing your angle of view with some other input, either the mouse hat or the keyboard itself.

The problem is this: Every time the X45 pinkie switch is pressed, it automatically reloads and resends the position of the AUX switch! So, if your AUX switch is still sitting in guncam view position, and you've changed to wide view with the keyboard, as soon as you hit the pinkie switch, boom... guncam view.

I just swap views with the AUX switch, so I never have this problem. (My view angle is always where I left the switch last, which is what is resent on pinkie press, which means nothing changes.) Sorry about this strange issue, I tried to find a solution, but the Saitek profiler seems intent on resending the AUX button command with each pinkie switch press.

Thanks for the explanation. I didn't realize you had mapped aux to view mode and I've now switched it to normal. However, I still don't know why remapping both gunsight view and toggle gunsight off of delete worked (I experimented with both and delete is the offender). Oh well, the problem's solved and I suppose I don't need to know why.

Thanks for the profile adlabs6.

its been a while since i last looked...

but doesnt dhuazimmers profile not work with all buttons?

last time i was at the site it said not all buttons are recognised with dhauzimmers proggie. .

has it changed? i might take a look again if it has. i know many people are happy with his program, but for me, i cant justify buying an $80 dollar stick...then to get a program that doesnt make use of all the buttons for it.
