I can't get a day off, but these forums are my 15 minutes off between tasks. Without these little excursions I'd go even more insane http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Lutier... I can relate to what you say... I visit these forums from time to time during the day and in my line of work, I find it a nice diversion. Some folks get real emotional at times, but overall I really enjoy the debate and the knowledge some people bring to these boards.

It is very special indeed when the community can speak to and at times influence the development of a product like this.

Luthier, Luthier, Luthierrrrr, I need you help on a personal matter -- my roommate's girl is coming on to me, what should I do ? I really can't avoid her because she's always visiting my buddy, and when he's not looking, well stuff happens and...

<btw, are there going to be B-29s in PF ? >

... I really do my best to throw cold water on these advances, but it's hard. Thanks for your help. Sincerely, SLEEPLESS IN TULAGI http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Dear Sleepless in Tulagi,

Believe me, there's nothing better than messing around with your buddy's girlfriend behind his back. Definitely go for it. Otherwise you're really going to regret this when you're 83.

Yours,

Abby errm I mean Luthier

Hey - They announced the game because they wanted people to know it was on the way, and hopefully get exited about it. Well I think they got that. On the other hand, since the official announcement ecxept for a few screens there has been almost no hard information given out. I guess there not ready yet and it appears to be official policy to keep a tight lid on all of it. People are obviously passionate about this stuff, so they get anxious. Hopefully some real info about this game wont be to far away. It's all for us in the end, and no matter how many virtual fistfights get started I would imagine everyone here has more in common with each other than the guy you sit next to at your 9-5

Nice try http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif But you really need to work on your baiting skills.

try something like, "Shouldn't you be panicking about the Corsair?" http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/mockface.gif

Please tell me that it didn't take an entire day to look up that weak comeback. Were you going for obscurity or was it pointlessness? I can't tell, help me out.

"Please tell me that it didn't take an entire day to look up that weak comeback" OK

"Were you going for obscurity or was it pointlessness?" neither

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

Y'all realize that it's probably part of luthier's job description to come in here and throw pieces of bread to the raving mob, right? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

And now, if for no other reason than "Just Because", it's time for my favorite picture...

Great thought, but I said that the forum members should stop bugging him with useless crap, not that he should stop posting or avoid the forums, Penguin.

Maybe you could read the first post in the thread? His job could easily also entail juggling mangoes while humming the Battle Hymn of the Republic to a Reggae beat, but nowhere did I suggest he stop doing his job.

And I'm saying that it's silly, if not utterly futile, to try and be Luthier's caretaker by telling people how they should behave on an internet forum. People who behave like morons on the internet aren't the kind of people who LISTEN to other people on the internet to begin with. Hence, telling people to take it easy on Luthier are wasting time, to say the least. Judging by his responses, he is more than capable of handling himself.

Oh, so now you think I want to be Luthier's caretaker. I understand now. And you think that if I want to do that, it's wrong. OK, gotcha.

But...isn't that what you're doing right now? Telling other people what they should do? So if I do it, it's wrong and you have a problem with that, but when YOU do it to me, it's right to do that. That's a good system, I think I'll call it, "the old double standard". Kinda catchy, eh?
