Unlike the sims, a deck crash doesn't always result in a ball of fire! Thanks for the photos!

This thread should have been titled "How NOT to land on CVE" LOL

One of the bigger problems with CFS2. You could not ditch a plane and you could not crash on the deck or runway and skid to a stop. Anything more than just a little bit of a hard landing ended in a fireball and a letter home to your next of kin.

I was able to sucessfully ditch a 1% TBM in CFSII, which took about 30 sec to sink. I think the damage profiles can be modified to work around this. It is an irritating "function".

This is not so at all. I regularly "crash" 1% Wildcats, hellcats without landing gear onboard aircraft carriers that move up/down/sideways, and make you seasick!

You just need to turn off your fuel pumps/shut the engine down. Its very cool after flying combat for 45 minutes or so, to find carrier, and land with no gear. (And not blow up!) http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Try "landing" the OS2U Kingfisher on deck, I think the "roll" is shorter than the arrested landings!
