Same problem for me.

Downloads the 6.0mb of data ok then it says launching at the bottom of the launch screen. Then it comes up with and error saying "Failed to launch client program".

Same thing happens now if I try to run either single player or Uru live.

I now uninstalled the game and left my save game folder intact.

Reinstalled it and single player ran , but my save was from an earlier spot. All that I did yesterday finishing my third age seems to be lost.

I then tried Uru live again and exactly the same thing has happened again. Gets to the 6.1mb download and at the end fails to launch client program. The single pleyer also won't launch again now.

Grrrrrrrrrr http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

ok third time lucky.

Uninstalled yet again. Reinstalled.

This time I left all default settings for graphics and sound etc. I also left the box unchecked that means it updates all the ages in game as you enter each zone.

Hurrah the 6.1mb downloaded and ran this time.

I'm back in and have put all the options back to full and no problems....so far http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Anyone else have an update problem to report? Seems that it's sorted itself out.

Hmm. I've got one. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
My Windows 98 machine fails to perform the intial UruSetup.exe update/replacement prior to downloading the actual game patches. i.e. when it restarts UruSetup.exe, it says: "Failed to copy file UruSetup.exe."
The game itself runs fine, aside from one appearance of the 'fall-through' bug, so this is more of a mild annoyance than a problem...for now.

We have, of course, tried it again, tried rebooting before trying again, etc. Win98SE, 600mhz, 192mb RAM, 7GB of free hard drive space.

i have the same problem, so i ran the Urusetup.exe manually and found the Uru live componets added. i'd like to check my version #, just to see if the single player game updated, but i don't know where to look for it?

I'm gonna post this here as I have a similar problem but with Prime. When I click on the UPdates tab it initialises and completes the download but then can't upen UruUpdate.exe

When the game was first release some people complained that this may have had something to do with the game being installed on a drive other the c:\ but I thought that all got fixed.

I have uru installed on d:\

Any thoughts on this?

Gah, what an obnoxious bug. Sounds like one that's going to have to be fixed via a downloadable update and not through the uru update utility...

I forgot to check for a thread before posting, and made a new topic for the update problems. Sorry. Anyway, here is an exact copy past form that post about my problem:

quote:
I can play Uru fine. I can even upodate to fix that puzzle that isn't working in single player(the hexegon piller one). But now, when I auto update, the program updates and closes about 3 times, then when it gets to the part where it says "refreshing age list" it dies out with a windows "illigal operation" error. I can't update it through the program anymore!

Is there a patch I can update it with? Or perhaps some other problem?

I have windows XP running on a 3.06 Ghz processer, with 512 ram and a very fast(I think it's DSL) connection to the internet. I don't think it's my computer.

I was able to update before, so I don't know why it does this. Can someone help?

the hexagon piller works just fine in single player.. not sure what you're talking about that not working single player..

Have you tried Windows 2000 mode or some Win98 mode when executing it?

It's quite apparently a software issue of some sort -- I don't know what it is yet.

Have you disabled your antivirus software?
