View Full Version : To the Devs: I have 2 questions, Character Expression and Moddability.

Question 1:
Why not use the "Asleep" expression for "Unconscious"?

I noticed that a few classes have been released and one of the things i noticed are expressions.
Nice character art btw, love the detail you put in for them.

Now lets take a look at this image for a reference:

Why is there a need for both Asleep and Unconscious?
And why can't both status just make use of the "Asleep" expression?
I mean they are both just closing their eyes anyway, and unconscious just adds a couple of bruises.

That way, in place of unconscious, we can have a new expression? like say...Fear? or Happy?
Do we only have 4 expressions per character, or are the 4 expressions just an example of the many expressions available?

Question 2:
How moddable is Might and Magic X upon release? Is it even allowed for it to be modded?
Will there be tools given to players perhaps post release to be able to modify whatever we want like how Skyrim did it?

One of the reason why Skyrim, or even Morrowind is still retaining its longevity is the ability to mod the game.
It can continue to generate interest for the game long after its initial release date IMO.

Imagine, having Steam Workshop showcasing all the creative mods done by the talented modders,
Someone could finally form a talented team and MOD in "Free Roam Movement" if they are talented enough!
Or a fan remake of the original MM1 to 5 so that younger fans can appreciate how fun it was during those times.

Just a couple of questions and suggestion.
Thanks for listening.

Bonus Question:
(Character Classes) Just thought of this one, so i might as well add it in.

Are the character classes locked to the races?
Eg: Only humans can be Freemages? only Dwarves can be Defenders?

Also, Freemages can only be GM of Air, Magical Focus, Dark, Primordial?
What if i want to be GM of Earth, Water, Fire, Light? Is there some other sort of mage that specializes in those?
Why not just have 1 magic user class that has the ability to specialize whatever the player wants? Won't that be easier on development too?
I mean the devs won't have to create another magic type class rite?

Actually, theres another thing i dislike about, which is to PAY MONEY to learn MASTER or GRANDMASTER.
Its kindda funny that how anyone can be a GRANDMASTER by just spending money. PAY TO WIN!!! lol
I mean paying money to learn EXPERT is fine, but i was hoping that to reach the higher tiers would be some
sort of story quest instead, just a lil suggestion here.
Edit: Now i know we can have a "Paragon" class that will grant access to GM Tiers, but we still gotta visit trainers
and i assume we have to probably pay them? hmmm

This is a good question!:)
Maybe the difference between 'asleep' and 'unconscious' is that the character's eyes should be closed when 'asleep' and that the character's head should be tilted to the side, eyes closed when 'unconscious'.

Hi Ryan,

Advance class is unlocked by quest. Check the link.
http://www.gamebanshee.com/news/112003-might-a-magic-x-legacy-guardian-class-profile.html

Each Race has 3 classes, so there are total 12 classes. Each one with different skill combination and GM.
So other classes will have GM skills that Freemage don't.

In my opinion not all developers want "Easier" development. And I highly appreciate the developers actually make 12 classes tie to the races.
I can imagining I will play the game with 3 times completely with different class. (Might Might Magic Mix ? Might Mix Mix Magic ? Might Mix Magic Magic ?)
If we are playing 1 might class, which race will it be? Apply to Magic and Mix too.

The opinion is come from a gamer who don't bias toward M&M franchise (Nor developer too).

MM3 is perfect as it is :)

Yeah... it just wouldn't be the same. Even if the world is almost exactly replicated, the battle and skill systems would still be under the "new rules" category.
