When I go to order a X45 it says they have no quanity's in stock so I can't place an order for one. How do I go about ordering one of these fine setups if they don't have any to order? I seen they also had a setup called X36 but these were out of stock too. What is the difference between the X46 and the X36?

I've placed an order for the TrackIR 3pro and want to get a X45 to round out my flight control.

I'm sorry. I'm trying to order it directly from the Saitek company.

If you're in the US why don't you order from a retail site where they have them in stock such as a Best Buy or an EB Games. The prices are no different on those sites than at the Saitek site. Hope that helps you out.

good link Saber. $61.21 is about the best price you're gonna find anywhere for a new X45. Kanno, I'd recommend that site Saber recommended.

Regarding the difference between the X36 and the X45, there are a few I'm aware of, but none are major from a user point of view.

X36 originally came out before USB. Early builds are gameport only, later are gameport/USB. The X45 is USB only.

The X45 also introduced the Saitek single spring setup to their HOTAS range. The X36 has a different spring for the X and Y axes, so spring load is higher in the corners than it is for single axis deflection.

Finally, the X45 has an additional clip on "finger rest" on the pinkie switch. If you don't like it or need more room for your big hands it comes off. Just pull up firmly at the end nearest the main joystick grip.

Thank you sir for the explination of the differnces in the two. I went with the X45 cause that is what the guys here on the forum seem to recommend the most. Also I got your X45 profile in your sig and was wondering if this profile works with TrackIR 3pro installed. I just went ahead and got IR3 while I was at it...lol.

Dont forget to set the friction screw on the bottom of the trottle, or youll wear out the detent like I did.
There is one more thing I would suggest, that is to run a bead of apoxy around the outside of the ring [on the base of the stick] that the gimbal rides on. Mine finally broke off after about 3 years.
You can rub a candle on it to make it smoother but it doesnt last long.
Some folks clamp the spring with wire ties to make the spring weaker.
happy landings.

Yep. You may want to change one or two assignments, like maybe set up the hat under the launch button so you can disable/recenter/re-enable TIR instead of using it for mouse pan, but it will work fine as is ('cept TIR overrides mouselook so the hat under the lauch button wont work with TIR enabled http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif)

And remember, the rudder control is on the underside Throttle handle. Your last 2 fingers of your left hand work the rocker for it, unless you bought a set of rudder pedals. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I appreciate all the tips I can get on this fine piece of equipment. I know there will be some getting use to the X45 and TIR so the more tips the better. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Got my X45 today and I've only set up some commands within FB but I really like what I've seen so far. Gonna take some time getting used to for sure. The nice kind of getting used to I mean. Gonna work on personal custom profile next. I'm now looking for the TIR3 to arrive next monday. Can't wait to see what that looks like. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
