View Full Version : AC IV's Title Sequence (spoilers of other games' starts)

Playing ACIII through again reminded me how awesome the title sequences of the main games are (by which I mean the scene in which we get the "Ubisoft presents: AC" with dramatic music). So I got to wondering what Black Flag's will be like.

Here's a summary of what we've had so far:

AC: After clashing with Robert de Sable and free running through Solomon's Temple, Altair reaches an opening which gives a stunning view of Jerusalem.
AC II: After some brotherly bonding, Ezio and his brother look out across Florence from the roof of a church tower.
ACB: At the top of a church tower, Ezio considers throwing the Apple into the Tiber. He gives it to Mario instead, then both perform a leap of faith as the camera raises to reveal the rest of Rome.
ACR: No proper sequence, just the extended E3 trailer with the game name after it :( The real shame is that Yusuf's "Welcome to Konstantiyye Ezio!" scene atop Galata Tower would have worked perfectly.
AC III: After seeing off the Assassins' ship, Haytham climbs to the crows' nest and gets his first glimpse of the New World.

The formula seems to be Protagonist + High Point + Showing off where you'll be playing + Epic music.

Now, the natural high point for Edward would be from the mast of his ship, and I wouldn't be surprised if they did this. But seeing as this already happened in AC III, what if they did something like this instead:

A dangerous mission on land leads to Edward running off with some valuable treasure (PoE? Little glass cube things?). He and his first mate Adewale are chased to the top of a high cliff by guards. At this point the cinematics start: Edward and Adewale exchange some dialogue as they reach the edge of the cliff, and the camera reveals the Jackdaw waiting in the huge ocean below*. They pause a moment, then Edward yells "JUMP!"** and they both perform a leap of faith off the cliff. "AC IV: Black Flag" appears in the sky.

* Seeing as we'll be spending much of our time on the Jackdaw in the middle of the ocean... what better way to show off where we'll be playing?
** Just like Mario yells in Brotherhood, as a little call-back to previous games

Thoughts? Does anyone have any suggestions as to what we might see?

The scenario that you draw seems great, but why would they immediately start off with the cube thing?
I think that would be introduced later in the game, the rest is cool though.

If you alter your scenario a bit like this:
"Edward and Adewale are in some tavern hanging out and having fun with the girls around there ^^ then the guards (templars? who are the real enemies in this new game?) will spot them ad chase them for something they did earlier (blow up a templar base or something) then they get to the cliff, etc.

Didn't either Ash or Darby mention that the PoE is introduced very early in the game?

We begin the game playing young Haytham, who is joking around the house with old Edward. Then young Haytham goes to sleep and wakes up later. He wanders around the house looking for Edward, and he hears the family dog being mutilated outside. Edward bursts through the door, obviously alarmed. Then the neighbor attacks Edward, and Edward kills the neighbor in front of Haytham shocking the boy. With his pal Reginald Birch, Edward and Haytham pile into a horse-carriage to escape London which has become overwhelmed by Londoners who for some reason have turned cannibalistic and are eating people. We still control Haytham in the carriage, but we can only observe as London tears itself apart around us.

The carriage eventually crashes, and from here on out we finally take control of Edward. He carries the young Haytham through the chaotic streets as Reginald covers them. Taking a shortcut, Edward and Reginald are cornered by bloodthirsty cannibals and Reginald sacrifices himself to cover Ed's escape. Edward succeeds in carrying Haytham to the outskirts of London where he plans to escape by boat, but they are cornered by an Assassin who under orders from the Assassin Order opens fire on Haytham and Edward to prevent that whole Templar Order in Colonial America business happening.

Edward tries to dodge the fire but he has no hope of staying alive until Reginald shows up again and kills the Assassin. Haytham is fine but to his horror Edward dies in front of him of bullet wounds.

One week after the game releases Darby and Ashraf are boasting about how great their game intro is, They then hear the doorbell ring outside the Ubisoft building, they go to answer it.. There they see Neil Druckman and Bruce stralay with the whole naughty dog team... it doesnt end well.

The entire game turns out to be some ludicrous bedtime story Connor is telling his daughter. In fact, the bedtime story scenario isn't real either!

The entire AC series from AC2 and hereonafter were just delusions in Desmond's crazy mind as he sits lobotomized in an Abstergo prison cell!

Haha, this is actually the exact same scenario, complete with zombies xD
But in Last of Us, they flash forwards, not backwards. Sucks knowing the end before you play the game.

We know they die eventually....how does it suck to know HOW and WHEN they die???
