View Full Version : AC4 location wish list?

Today, for the first time, I played AC3 multiplayer. I never really was into the multiplayer but I thought I would give it a try. Since I got the season pass, I received the battle hardened pack, and thus got the extra content map. I particularly like the map "Saint Pierre" that is located in the Caribbean island of Martinique. I really like it because of the colors of the buildings and spanish tiled rooftops. it looks like a much better and vibrant boston imo. However, it was sad to me that only such a small portion of the city was explorable (obviously because it is a multiplayer map). Thus, I began to think "maybe this city could be in Black Flag!" So, just because I am interested, I would like to hear all of your AC4 locations wish lists. I don't think this topic has been discussed in a previous thread, I don't remember seeing one, but if it has been, then I apologize, and please feel free to inform me of my ignorance.

My list is pretty small, and consists of port royale, tortuga, and Saint Pierre. However, port royale and tortuga have already been confirmed, so I guess it is just Saint Pierre for me. If anyone knows if this location has been confirmed or not, or if you want to give me your speculation, then please inform me.

Castillo de San Felipe in Izabal, Guatemala. If the ocean area expands to there, I'd love for that to be a fort.

Various areas of the Yucatan Peninsula. We're supposed to be seeing Mayan Ruins, let's get that done!

For Cuba, there's Valle de Los Ingenios and the town close by, Trinidad. A small town and a nice plantation to go with it. In Jamaica, I'd love to see Spanish Town close to Kingston and hopefully Colbeck Castle in good state, that could be rather impressive to witness.

And maybe, just maybe, Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic could be explorable. If it is, I'll be happy, we could have the oldest cathedral in the Americas right there. Doubt it'll be possible, though, that'd mean another full-size city. But hey, I can dream.

It is always possible that a part of the city will be visit able, with ubisoft finding some way to block off the rest of the city, like having the part with the cathedral visit able, but the rest of the city blocked by walls, or a hill. Remember that ubisoft can create many large cities in one game, even if not all of them are fully explorable. For example, saint Pierre in AC3 is a multiplayer sized map, and is blocked off by animus barriers from the rest of the city, but ubisoft managed to create the entire remainder of the city in amazing detail just for aesthetic pleasure.

On a separate note, does anyone have any pics of Kingston or Nassau during the 1700s, or around that time?

You've got a point. Never played the multiplayer, myself, so I had no clue of the size of the maps. But that could work. I personally thought more along the lines of smaller towns, but I think if they use the same assets for multiplayer and single player locations that would be possible.
That being the case, I could see them doing that and maybe play around a little with a few locations in the Lesser Antilles. Time will tell, though.

Closest I can get from Kingston, almost 100 years later but hey, still close to what we'll see.

Oh, and this map, which shows a few buildings that we'll probably see

Thanks! Hopefully Kingston will look as vibrant and colorful as St Pierre. I hope it isn't another dull and gray city like the 2 second footage from the gameplay trailer makes it look like.

I really hope that most of the locations other than the cities will be towns. I mean, of course there will be forts, plantations, jungles, and ruins that are locations, but I really hope that the whole world isn't just wilderness outside of the cities.

I did expect towns, but never thought of potential size taking multiplayer into account (which, considering I don't play multiplayer, makes sense I didn't). But I see potential.
If it expands south all the way to Panama, I can see Portobelo being a location, though I doubt it. More likely, though, I can see Bridgetown in Barbados, Roseau in Dominica, maybe Port of Spain in Trinidad, Charlotte Amalie in St. Thomas (US Virgin Islands) and Willemstad in Curacao (yay for islands of Portuguese name yet very much Dutch).
Could be fun.

I have a feeling that the Mayan Ruins seeing in some gameplay videos are the ones in Tulum México!

I expect to see the Mayan Ruins in San Gervasio, Cozumel. Ubi is already familiar with Cozumel (or at least blowing up cruisers en route there) so why not?

"Yes, makes one's life easier". And no worries, I'm sure you'll get the hang of it with a bit of practice. That's how it goes when one's rusty.
