Tomshardare is a pretty popular site, so many of you might have red this already.
If someone is using multy display setup, can you share your experiance?

Nah, my room isn't big enough and my power bill would go through the roof. But what I do want is that 3 screen monitor thing that you see on the "Win this super computer!" popup...yall know what I'm talking about?

Personally, I'd opt for the i/o Glasses head-mounted display with TrackIR.

Instant, total-immersion VR helmet setup, without the extra positional-sensor cost.

Multiple monitors for me. Being able to see from wing-tip to wing-tip for $1500 is far better than a single view for $25,000.

i-glasses would be great if it supported 1024x768, and didn't require adjustment after being purchased (read up on em: they ship those things broken, and only repair them after you complain).

Damn!!! I barely have enough room in my room (yeah, I know...) for one monitor. Where do these guys get these fricking huge houses!? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gifhttp://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/crazy.gif
But yeah, that 727 sim is bloody awesome!

I'm curious: why all the high tech gee-whiz, and no pilot's seat other than a standard desk chair?
As race car drivers say, "It's how you sit and where you look"

If I'm using rudder pedals I don't want the slightest chance that, instead of yawing my PLANE, I'm yawing my PERSON http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

When do you just buy a real aircraft?

There has gotta be a threshold point, when you cross-over to the real thing. I'd say the only way a bunch of monitors makes sense...if you're grounded and love to fly so bad you can give up a room and a small fortune for make-believe. LOL

I think that the threshold point could include a new chair that doesn't swivel or has wheels, don't you? Or maybe a c-clamp to make sure the chair doesn't rotate, at least? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Anyway, noting that a different chair is what that setup might need is only logical. It's just about the only part of the setup that begs for attention.

Could be the dude's wife doesn't know he's flight simming. He may be telling her...who knows what. The rudder pedals should give it away, but hey a friend of mine told his wife pedals were for exercise... LOL

A friend of mine just bought a Bellanca Viking. He's getting all kinds of flak from his ole lady, but when he's up and away...so is she.

I love it...

Are you a lefty or do you want the stick in the middle? That would be a trick but it could be done.

It was not hard to build although my wife thought I was totally nuts. Now she is used to it and jsut gives me funny looks.

Yeah, flying the real thing would be the ultimate, but that presents it's own problems. For one thing, you'd then have to mount machine guns to your real plane if you want to do more than just fly. I don't think the FAA or the government would allow you to go around and shoot down other people like you do in the game http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif So one way or another I think you would have to stay with some kind of a simulator.
