The 2 minute turn timer is way too long for the average turn. It makes games longer than necessary and opens the door for people stalling as a way to grief their opponent.

While 2 minutes is too long for 90% of the turns, there are the occasional exceptions where you do need more time. My recommendation is to have 1.5 minutes turns with an additional limited time bank of 2 minutes that the player automatically uses if they go over their allotted 1.5 minutes per turn. If a player exhausts their limited time bank, they forfeit the game.

I think this would be a great improvement for the game. Faster games benefits everyone.

7 mins / game like in swiss would be fine

I also wouldn't mind a format similar to Swiss but with higher time restrictions. Maybe 10 minutes per player?

Timer is PERFECT. If you reduce the time, Mill decks will die. It's already impossible to play them in swiss tournament, are you saying you want Mill decks to disappear and make people playing only rush decks everywhere?

The timer could rellay be limited to 90 seconds per turn instead of 120. Often enough, the enemy just didn't do anything the 2 mins, and only a couple of times (~4 times in about 10 days) did I need the time...

2 minuts are too much. lowering it to 1:30 will be step in right direction

true. and furthermore, timers are really hostile to any deck that actually require to think, at least a little, about your next move (and i dont mean rushes lol)

The best would be a Fischer clock like in chess (X minutes for the game, + X seconds per turn).

This would only be okay to implement in the 1500+ elos period. I know of many players that were able to make over 1000 elo in less then a week as new players (myself included). Shorter timers should never, ever be enforced on new players in ladder format.

Just +1 to first sugestion 1,5 minute per round, or even 1 minute + time bank 2 minute just like in poker. But that can be hard to implement, time bank is a lot of code to make i belive, so just put that timer as it is in swiss but with meaby 10 minutes.
