Sometimes when I fly in low level in an il2 with bombs about to bomb let's say a transport colomn. I come in, drop my bombs and right after I drop them I literally explode in midair AND there is absolutely NO damaged to the colomn. I've set my bombs already to a 4 sec. delay. What's going on?

Kozhedub: In combat potential, the Yak-3, La-7 and La-9 fighters were indisputably superior to the Bf-109s and Fw-190s. But, as they say, no matter how good the violin may be, much depends on the violinist. I always felt respect for an enemy pilot whose plane I failed to down.

If you die there is no damage to ground targets. This is why you cant take out a tank by slammin into it. Your coming in too low. Find a better angle, maybe a bit steeper, and be sure to leave enough room for you to get out. I use a 2 second delay and get away with it. Just got to drop the egg in the basket.

You're blowing up instantly even with a 4 second delay? Strange. I've done this before and got away with it, but I was moving pretty quick.

I've hit my own bombs before, all it takes is pitching down after dropping them. So make sure you drop and pull up in that order.

the tb3 will damage you at 1000m but if theres an enemy fighter under you it wont damage him which i dont get, I miss setting the delay for 2 seconds in the p47 flying on the deck and explode the 190 or 109 on your tail which we cant do anymore

You sure about that Lead? Not more than a week ago, I was diving in to bomb and got a Yak on my tail (On GG). I dropped my bomb early to try and get away. As it blew up, I got a kill message, and one of my mates started laughing on TS. He said that my bomb got him. I keep my bombs set to 2 seconds. Perhaps it was just coincidence, but I am pretty sure he died from bomb blast.

Incidently, that was one of those rare nights where everything I did was spot on. I swear I racked up 17 kills before I even got a bullet hit on my plane.
