Only because i resized them wanted to make it kind of friendly for people with modems. And size requirements at photobucket wont allow the full size they are almost a meg in size each

Great Pictures! Where you from Carp? I live in Germantown.

I'm probably heading to the EAA on Saturday to see the Warbirds Show. Is that ME109 in your pictures flying at the show?

And the 109 is the spanish built version and it arrived later in the day so didnt see it fly in the warbirds show. Was there on Thursday and the only warbirds that flew were the P-51 aroebatics team and some T-6s. Why the warbirds did'nt fly im not sure might of been because of the low ceiling.

Thanks Carp, maybe I'll see yo at the show! I'll be wearing a "Sentimental Journey" t-shirt depicting a restored B-17 that I saw at an airshow in West Bend in 2002.

Does anyone know where the F4F-3 (1st photo) and the F4F-4 (4th photo) home bases are? I would love to get a closer look at those "Cats"!

Hello,

Nice pics! I'm from Grafton originally, so hellow to my fellow Wisconsin IL2 pilots! I'm livin in Oshkosh now and i work at EAA helping make the signs for the Airventure. That P-40 pictured i drew a sweet sketch of... I saw the 109 come in on thursday, and well that was so cool, i wasn't expecting it. The Warbirds did not fly on Thurs cause they get off days, which were thurs and monday comin up they will not be in the show. My fav was the Corsair...boy and baby can fly! I know why it was called whistlin death, it makes an awesome noise!

The F4F-3 you mean. (I do that all the time between the -3 and the -4 models) How were you able to see it? Is it on display or do you know how to contact the owner?

The Midwest CAF is based out of Olathe, Kansas just outside of Kansas City and they had an open house last weekend.

It is in immaculate condition. They have a website but I can't remember the URL. I'm away for the weekend but when I get home I'll post it.

I live in wisconsin and wanted so bad to go. I actually drove through oshkosh this afternoon on my way home to waukesha although didnt have time to stop in. When I was getting gas in Oshkosh, a B17 flew over real close, I've never seem on flying so close before, it had a silver paint scheme with a yellow tail, beautiful. I also saw what I think was one of those old Ford trimotors fly overhead. Then I got back on the highway just in time to see an aerobatics show. I couldnt tell from the road what they were, but they were red and from their speeds looked to be propjobs. It took a ton of willpower (and unwilling partner riding shotgun) to not stop, but seeing that B17 made my day.

Yes the B-17 was making passes over the airfiled there also and they give out rides in the Ford Trimotor thats based there. And the aerobatics display goes on everyday when its open also. But i love to see the old warbords flying my self.
