View Full Version : Frequent lack of players

The title pretty much sums it up: Most of the time I log on to play AC3 multiplayer games, there only seems to be 3 or less players online. I don't play at odd hours when you'd expect everyone to be asleep or at work/school, so what gives? And when there ARE enough players to keep it going for an hour or two, it seems like they're the same 5 guys/gals over and over again. Are there really that few gamers trying out AC3's multiplayer mode, or is the apparent lack of opponents and teammates due to something else? Anyone else have the same problem?

The AC3 community is small but it is large enough to sustain a multiplayer. If you are on PC and Wii U then this could be another story. If you are on PS3 or Xbox then it is most likely your connection. If you have a Bad upload under options an online chances are is you'll find it harder to find a match than you would otherwise.

AC3 is starting to dwindle.

About 2 weeks ago, It was High/Medium/Medium Activity. (20 SIMPLE DM SESSION!)

This weekend... think there was a max of... 12? And I never saw the FFA playlist go to High activity anymore.

PC is what I'm using. And I'm wondering - do the patches only affect singleplayer, or multi as well? (Because I've been unable to install 1.03 , and therefore 1.04 as well. And the support has flagged my query as SOLVED, although it isn't.)

The patches affect Single & Multiplayer . (search the forum for patch notes perhaps )

Not being up to date with installed patches isn't going to help your gameplay . (why no 1.03 installed ? )

PC playerbase is indeed very small in comparison to XBox and PS, yet not as small as you described. I usually have no problem finding games in the modes i want to play. So like montagemik I'd suggest patching your game for optimal compatibility.

Some error with multi\DataPC.forge, which prevents me from installing (but not downloading) patch 1.03, which is a requirement for getting 1.04. The support have been less than helpful, and changed my status to solved without providing and answer - they've done it before.

I figure the lack of patching might be a problem, in that perhaps you can only play with other people who are on the same patch "level", so to speak?

Crappy games tend to have fewer players :P Said in a not so hater-like way, most people don't want to put up with the rage AC3 gives them, so they just find other games to play. Ubisoft doesn't seem to care much about fixing stuff, so people just wisen up and move on.

The connection/matchmaking issues (9 times out of 10 I am always with a group) were bad....they really put a damper on the game...the fact is even with that constant annoyance I STILL played so that says something. There were a lot of things I did like and a lot of things I didn't like. At the end of the day I still played.

The Animus Hack glitch finished the game for me "fixed" or not I just made it so I won't even turn the game on anymore. My roots are in competitive gaming and I am one of the most competitive people In everything video games or not wasn't fun anymore with that in almost every room. I come here sometimes still, but never post since I don't play anymore. I did read a thread a day or 2 ago about new "no cooldowns" glitch. SSDD Even happens in manhunt constantly on defense on the regular and you don't even do anything to make it happen.

To those of you that I met and played with it was nice meeting you...hope to see you in another game some time. AC3 was my first Online Ubisoft game....after the experience it will be my last. So have fun...enjoy AC4/black flag whatever if you get it and have fun all.

You have to think theres only so much people will take....maybe most have hit their limit at this point. I mean this being your 3rd MP of the series and you still have the most basic problems? I think you pretty much know its not going to get better to people have to accept it or move on to another game. I was looking into defiance, but it seems it have a lot of problems too so I have to see in a week or 2 what people say. That said the OPs problem might be what has already been suggested also though. Just wanted to point out some players have left.

Still fairly active on PS3 from my experience. All times of day.

Yesterday on PS3 it was easy to find AA matches (is that a surprise at all?) Manhunt was considerably harder, but there was only a single game of Domination being played. I say bring back Chest Capture and Escort. At least people played those game modes...
