In which Axis/Allied aircraft you can score most victories. Name one to three aircraft from both sides or just the side you play on, but please try to explain what makes these aircrafts stand out.

Me I fly the P-47 mostly, occassionaly you will find me in the pit of a P-51 or P-38. But my number one ride will always be the Jug. I do well in it mainly because I have been flying the P-47 since Janes WWII fighters days, and know how to handle her. Plus she will take alot of abuse and is a very stable gun platform.

I mostly host my own crap plane server and there my absolute favourite is the B-239.
Why? Because it's gentle and forgiving with magnificent roll-rate, good climbing abilities, seldom stalls, never spins, easy to recover in any situation.
Also it has good firepower for a pre-war aircraft, a great cockpit almost as good forward view as the P-38.
Only downside is the insane ground handling and the crazy way it acts up on takeoff - I can't believe it was actually meant as a carrier based fighter!
All in all: A great plane with few vices and amazingly fun to look at and even more of a crack to fly!

>"Flatspin", what is that supposed to mean? This aircraft is entirely spin-proof!<

Its the pilot, not the plane. Choose what you like for looks, performance, etc. and learn to fly it from there. All planes have their strong and weak points.

Badges!? We don't needs no stinkin' badges!

I think it depends on your style of fighting. My fav is really the Fw190D-9. It's not as manouverable as the P-51, but can take more damage than the P51. I also fly the Fw190A-8(and 9) with the mk108 wing cannons. The guns only have about 20 rounds a piece, but I've gotten to the point of only needing to fire only a few shots to hit something, and that usually does the trick. But the Fw190s are very touchy when you're hard on the controls; they can be forced into a stall/spin very easily, but I've gotten used to it. Me109 manouvers better, but isn't as tough, and has good fire power IF you carry the mg151s or mk108s underwing, but at the expense of speed.

My main ride right now is the P-51 because it makes a nice explosion when you pull up. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/blink.gif

The Pony just looks sexy, and it manuvers well at high speeds.

2nd favorite plane is the YP-80. This old girl is a mean bird. She's very fast and has excellent manuverability.

3rd favorite is the P-38L. Very nice acceleration, climb and decent fire power.

I use to like the P-47, but it just seems so fragile now, the controls get rendered usless with one MG or 20mm hit and it's just too slow on eccerlation.

People are saying which is their favorite plane but the question was which one can you get the most kills in. I can get the most kills in a Me262 by far. Of all the offline campaigns I've flown, I can think of no other plane in which I can get an average of five kills per sortie. I have gotten as many as ten kills and unless I encounter no enemy planes at all, I always get at least one or two at the very least. But my average in one Berlin campaign was five per sortie at the end of the war. The guns and the speed make it stand out.

I've easily got the most kills in a P-39. Playing the Il-2 demo, that is. I used to see how quickly I could down 16 Ju 52s in QMB as gunnery practice.

As for fighting figthers, I seem to be the most deadly in the I-16.

Allied: Jug, for its durability.

I also fly pony when I want something more agile.

Standouts are speed, firepower, dive, and high speed maneuverability. For the jug its also its ridiculous ability to not notice when someone shoots you.

Axis:
190 A-9. Ridiculous firepower. Good climb. Good roll. Decent high speed response. Durable.

Focke wulf 190 D9 1944 or 1945

with right engine control (prop pitch, throttle ) you can be very fast, down low and up high. Great roll rate, (Note this is not your Tnb (turn and burn fighter)and is not a lonewolfing type of fighter) and u don't want to be slow)

When I'm flying on our Squadron server (pre 42 aircraft except for the FW-190a4) and am flying on the Axis side, I always select the A6M2. It's the perfect foil to the Spitfire V's that nearly everybody selects on the Allied side, they invariably try to turnfight with my Zero with disastrous results for the Spitfires.
The A6M2's strengths are it's extreme agility, good climbrate (for it's era) and it's firepower. It's weaknesses are well known including it's lack of self sealing tanks causing the Zero to turn into an inferno rapidly when hit (despite the fact the Zero is structurally very strong) and it's extremely bad rollrate. But like I say, they have to hit your fueltanks 1st before it will burn and that's a challenge. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
