What do you all think of customizing you ship? Like adding you own color, different medallion/sculpture thing on the tip of you ship, etc.
I liked buying the things that help you while fighting other ships but I got very bored of having the same ship though out the whole game. What do you think?

I think that we'll actually be able to have in-depth customization this time.

After all, why would one of the pre-order bonuses be Connor's sails if there wasn't?

Well, Gamestop's preorder offers a "Black Ship" so I'm not sure that we actually are going to have the same ship throughout the entire game.

That said, it would be cool to add different items to the Jackdaw besides strictly practical additions like extra cannons and such. One of the preorder incentives offers Connor's Sails, so that might be a clue that we can customize our sails (though this might be practical as well, maybe different types of sails affect your speed and maneuverability). A choice of multiple figureheads would be nice as well, although the current one (a naked mermaid) fits my weird sense of humor. Ramming my enemies to death with tits... :p

Its not weird, its awesome. The bestest of the best death is the one brought about by tits. :nonchalance:

Reminds me of Tortuga back in '14

Each available as a separate $0.99 DLC no doubt...

I was with you until the pink sails part. Now my remaining doubts are clearing..

Yeah, I actually wanted this in AC3 as well. Hopefully it comes true this time.

I would be very suprised if this did not happen in AC4.

Yeah and I have also seen different steering wheels/helms.
Seems like there will be some customizations without "effects", just as an visual aspect.

If possible, I'll be making myself a Black Pearl for sure. And I want an undead monkey on board as well. Just because.

Heck yeah! Seriously though, unless we get a land base, which IMO is unlikely, The Jackdawis gonna function as our Manor/Villa/Hideout this time round, so I would hope that she'll be fully explorable (or at least have a Captain's cabin for trophies, etc). It would also make sense for her to be customisable as well.

I'm not entirely sure on this, but I think the different helms are little physical collectibles, aren't they? Like the belt buckle and stuff that came with AC3's special edition?

He was just saying it would cost you a lot, because they obviously wouldn't put anything extra on the disc if they could save it and release it as DLC.

I hope we can at least change the 'Figurehead' on Edward's Ship .

I'd prefer a Skull at the front with Black wings carved down the sides of the Bow .
The Aquila had the Eagle head ................ But the 'Jackdaw' (ship of a feared pirate) has a Frkn mermaid  hardly an image of fear & intimidation charging across the carribean.

The helms could have an effect, like improved steering/maneuverability or something like that, and different sails could improve your speed.

Whereas the eagle was meant to intimidate the enemy, I guess Edward uses a different tactic; distract the enemy with wooden porn :p
