I'm new here. Like, less than an hour new. I was directed here by a friend of mine, he told me I should post here to show what I've made. When I first saw the trailer for AC3 I knew I wanted the assassin's tomahawk, but I never saw a version to buy that was accurate enough for my tastes, so I built my own. I've been working on this on and off for months now, and I finally just finished a complete version!

I hope you like it! I'll actually be making another one with some small issues fixed (the handle wrapping will fit better, and the beads will be translucent red instead of opaque) and I'll probably post pics of that one in this thread too. And then a few people have asked me to make them to buy, so eventually I'll have several of these!

Nice. I think I saw this posted on reddit the other day. I was interested to know how you made the blade?

Where've you been?

Took a bit of a break then came back in a sort of silent observing way. Figured i'd post again though when i saw this thread. Guess i'm a sucker for sexy things.

I sculpted it out of styrene (plastic sheets) and clay, with plenty of Bondo to help. I then made a silicone mold of it and cold cast it in resin (cold casting means I coat the inside of the mold with aluminum powder before I pour in the resin, so the whole thing has a fine metal layer on the outside of the plastic, which makes it so I can buff and polish it to look metallic).

Did I aid in the resurrection of someone important?

Cool. It looks really good. Something i'm sure a lot of people would buy!

I don't know what that means, but ok. Team of... game developers? I'm too out of touch to know what pax is, either. :/

Pax is a gaming convention, and yeah he's referring to the game developers

I wonder if anyone has attempted to craft the hidden Blade as of yet ? , i think it looks really cool, i just wish i had the craftsmanship to make something like that.

I've seen a few homemade ones that function like Connor's (triggered by a ring mechanism with the blade on a pivot) but none that looked anything like it. Not bashing the ones I saw though, it's impressive that they even found a way to make it work with just some scrap metal and common tools.

Dude makes all kinds of cool stuff. He also made a working hookblade (2 parts ofcourse) and apparently also a pivoting AC3 hidden blade.

This version is for sale all over the place (thinkgeek and others). It's much lower quality and not as accurate.

The youtube video says in the comments that he doesn't. Too bad, that thing is amazing.
