Doesn`t mean it needs whining on. Silly whine posts popping up lately in ORR...

(Come on then who`s gonna try to be clever and repeat again that line: `whining about whining`).

It's rubbish that I can't use the releif tube in a P-51. It is there historically. Oleg, if you don't make the releif tube functional I shall hold my breath till I turn blue.

There isn`t really a reason why one should whine.AFAIK there will be one last downloadable addon. And it`ll put an end to a wonderfull IL2/FB history.
In order to live longer FB will need it`s code to be opened to public.
That is where most ppl will quit.

This is a great sim [PERIOD] whining should "IMO" be kept to a minimum or not at all. I think simmer's are starting to act like spoiled http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/icon_twisted.gifchildren.

I read all the time:

1.The plane specs are off
2.the flight model is off
3.the weapon damage is off

In reality, unless you actually flew these OR any modern\WWII planes in REAL combat, you can't comment on representation. You also, can't read documentation on the subject matter of flight characteristics, weapon damage, etc... and become an expert without actually participating and applying what you may have read\learned.

***I hope my point is clear.***

So, let's take the good with the bad and enjoy the experience of simulations.

Main Entry: sim‚∑u‚∑la‚∑tion
Pronunciation: "sim-y&-'lA-sh&n
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English simulacion, from Middle French, from Latin simulation-, simulatio, from simulare
1 : the act or process of simulating
2 : a sham object : COUNTERFEIT
3 a : the imitative representation of the functioning of one system or process by means of the functioning of another <a computer simulation of an industrial process> b : examination of a problem often not subject to direct experimentation by means of a simulating device

GET IT?? Its a SIMULATION. http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/images/smiley/crazy.gif

I whine too you know. I only whine about that bug where the P-40 fuel droptank explodes like a bomb (even with the fuse delay you set!!). I choose only to whine about that one thing because I found it, and mentioned it here before others did.

I also discovered that "humorous" hidden message in the P-40 cockpit. I don't whine about that though. I think it's funny.

I honestly think that if the aircraft were as hard to learn to manage and fly as in real life (assuming the hardware could handle it) that most people would not be able to put up with it. They would in fact find it rather boring.

That's why I've come to consider FB more as a game than a simulator. It does strike a rather good balance, but the point of it is to have fun in a challenging environment.

I also think it's funny that most of the people complaining about flight and damage models and so on don't seem to be wanting increased realism with a view toward using historic tactics.

I am preparing some comments for the pencil arguments but I need to check my results first. I think most of the eraser arguments are superfluous in light of combat constraints, but I might do some thinking on that too. I have sources that say many pilots removed their erasers by hand because of their negative effect on performance, but more importantly because they didn't want to be tempted into erasing efforts when their attention was needed at critical moments.

OLEG I saw on Bugs Bunny when you run out of gas your plane stops just before it hits the ground PLEASE FIX THIS and please take out the Gremlin you modded in LW planes unless all planes have Gremlins and why don't VVS planes have Gremlins like all the others planes this is obviously BIAS!!

No. It is when your plane runs out of gremlins that it stops short of hitting the ground. Remember that your gremlin gauge is going to show full until you are below 25% gremlins. Bugs Bunny is entertaining enough, but you really must quote reliable sources. Please do good research or stop interfering with serious flight model questions with your Looney Tunes.
